How Many Gods Does the Bible Testify?

Hello fam! I'm writing up short bible studies so I can be prepared when I finally approach members of the WMSCOG. I'll post them here so you can review them and help me make them better. Because many members won't come to this site, I think it's appropiate to speak from our mouths to them. I'm trying to keep the studies short, sweet, and to the point. It should take no longer than 5 minutes for me to get the point across.

How Many Gods Does the Bible Testify?

The WMSCOG preaches there are 2 Gods, the Father and the Mother. They use many verses in the Bible to back up this idea. For every verse they use to prove their side, there is at least one verse which contradicts them. Let us begin with the Hebrew term "Elohim."

    Who is Elohim?

The direct translation of Elohim is Gods, a plural word. From this word alone, it is implied that there is more than one God. Ge 1:26-27, God (Elohim) uses the terms "us" and "our." If there is only one God, the proper way to describe who created mankind is to use "me" and "my." But because God uses "us" and "our", that means someone created humans along with God the Father. Ge 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth. Therefore, the "us" in Ge 1:26 applies only to God, not the angels, hosts, or other angelic creatures. From these verses, can we say there is more than one God? Mal 2:10-15 heavily contradicts the claims of the WMSCOG. "Did not one God create us?" (Mal 2:10). You may ask what Hebrew term for "God" was used here. To answer, it is "El" a singular word, not "Elohim." Right away, the Scripture goes against itself saying more than one God created us in Ge 1:26 and saying only one God created us in Mal 2:10. So which is it, Gods or God?

We (Singular) Are Not the Slightest Bit Pleased

The use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person is called the majestic plural. Nosism is the use ot the majestic plural. It illustrates the power and dignity of a particular person or being, singular. The only way for Ge 1:26 and Mal 2:10 to be in harmony with each other is if the God who created mankind is nosistic.

Shall We (Plural) Worship Other Gods?

There are many false gods but as we just learned, the Scripture only testifies of one nosistic God who blesses us. Dt 11:16 says be careful not to worship other gods. No matter how many verses or which faulty evidence a false prophets provides us, do not let them "deceive you by fine-sounding arguements." Col 2:4

There is no other accounts in later gospels to account for this. Even Miriam stated that she thought her son was insane.

Are you getting this from Mark 3:21?  "When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”"

Other translations use the word "friends."  The literal translation is "And having heard of it, those belonging to him went out to sieze him; they said indeed he is out of his mind."

"Those belonging to him" can be family, friends, or associates.  It is not specified to be Mary.  Or is there another place your information comes from?

Hey can someone be so good to please explain to me the details of the coming of the Messiah? Let's scratch out Jesus first. What did the O.T prophecy said about the coming of the Son of God? In what book was it again? I am too tary to read right now. LOL.

My point in asking this actually is because if GOD intended for a Messiah to come and IF there is a FALSE MESSIAH coming, then it should have been stated in the prophecy right? So that it would warn the people to NOT believe so easily of those who claimed to be Messiah. Just like in the Revelation where we are warned that an "antichrist" but that's a completely different topic.

Anyway, according to a global survey, Christianity is ranked the largest religion in the world today. 32% of the world population believes that Jesus IS THE MESSIAH. That is a fairly large population, so this Jesus thing is really a BIG DEAL right? Then shouldn't it be prophesied in the OT that this would happen? Why would God the Father JUST let this happen to confuse the followers? Did God said in the OT that a false Messiah is coming to deceive people or was there a prophecy about it or did the OT bible gave even an itty bitty hint that it would happen?

If Jesus is not God, then when is your God scheduled to come, can you please explain to me, if you don't believe in a 2nd coming, then according to you when is the 1st coming of God?

Jesus Christ may not be anything to you, but to  me & other people here, he is OUR KING, OUR SAVIOR, so please tone it down.

Hal, you better be careful of your attitude, it's not making a very good impression of YOUR God to us. Let's say for example that your God and our  God is different and yours may be the True God. But seeing your attitude with it, if I get to pick, I'd choose JESUS anytime of the day. But luckily for me, I am certain that God and Jesus are one. I am certain of it. You on the other hand is still considering the "possibilities". Jesus was possibly a this, Jesus was possibly a that… So if you'd rather be uncertain of your salvation, then good luck with that. I'll pray for you Hal. May God gives you blessings and mercy in living the life that you do.

LOL. Easy there LUV. He's exasperating but give him time, maybe he'll realize his mistake later on. Don't get provoked. Just try to learn what you can in this forum and ignore him as much as you can. It's the learning here that matters, don't let his interruptions hinder you.

It takes an insane man to answer the people who wanted to stone the aduteress. It takes an insane man to answer those who asked if they should pay taxes. It takes an insane man to point out how they were violating the full sabbath teaching. It was an insane man to whom the teacher of the law said "well said"

It was even an insane man who healed peoples illnesses and raised some from the dead.

But what Hal's hatred does most of all is it helps deflect the issues from the goal of the discussion, which is to examine the wmscog. Wouldn't it be better if Hal could take up these issues in a forum dedicated to discussing such things rather than one examining the wmscog?

Yeah, being a "sane" person and I do believe I am, why is it that Jesus's words and teachings in the Bible makes perfect sense and seems so clear to me? But then they said that an insane person does not know that they are insane. So maybe I really am insane and just didn't know it.

People that are insane says things that other sane people can't understand. And since what I am saying here in the post makes sense to the people reading it, does this mean that the readers are insane too since they could understand what this insane person is talking about? LOL.

So it's either Jesus was sane and knows what he is talking about OR he's insane and we are also insane because we think that he makes perfect sense. So which is which? ^_______^

By the way Hal one of the WMS member asked a question:

    Who killed Jesus

    the Jews or the Romans?

So is this a good reason they have to support their view that "Jesus had to come from the East i.e Korea".

1 corinthians: 1-10: I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought

Hal please stay focused on the main discussion as emil stated above. Thanks

Hal I was responding to your view that Jesus was not rational [removed by admin].

My answer was to show that the people whose statements you use as evidence were most likely completely mistaken because the gospels have evidence of Jesus being an intelligent man.

Hal says to disprove ahnsahnghong, he must first disprove jesus because ahnsahnghong is supposedly jesus. But, obviously, you don’t need to disprove jesus to disprove ahnsanhghong. That’s an extra step that you don’t need to take.
