I see your point. I have some reservations on female leadership. I don't know…. Since I'm not always right.

I see your female leadership and raise you 1 Timothy 2:11  Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

    Insta-check-mate  :O

And it's the new testament so no chance for "but it's only a shadow…" mumbo jumbo!

Is it getting better, or do you feel the same?

Will it make it easier on you, now you got someone to blame?

You say one love, one life, when it's one need in the night.

One love, we get to share it

Leaves you baby if you don't care for it.

Did I disappoint you or leave a bad taste in your mouth?

You act like you never had love and you want me to go without.

Well, it's too late tonight to drag the past out into the light.

We're one, but we're not the same.

We get to carry each other, carry each other… one

Have you come here for forgiveness,

Have you come to raise the dead

Have you come here to play Jesus to the lepers in your head

Did I ask too much, more than a lot

You gave me nothing, now it's all I got.

We're one, but we're not the same.

Well, we hurt each other, then we do it again.

You say love is a temple, love a higher law

Love is a temple, love the higher law.

You ask me to enter, but then you make me crawl

And I can't be holding on to what you got, when all you got is hurt.

One love, one blood, one life, you got to do what you should.

One life with each other: sisters, brothers.

One life, but we're not the same.

We get to carry each other, carry each other.

    One, one.

    Yeah, I love U2 baby.

    Hi Harry.

    F&M prayed to

Communication among members outside of church prohibited

    Segregation (men and women)

A must to attend 3 services on Saturday/Sabbath-day, though a handful may violate this from time to time. I was one.

    A must to attend 3rd day service/Tuesday

    Attendance sheet during service

Do not go into any church with a cross above it

Do not give rides to any member. Only pastor allowed to do this if the need is necessary.

Do not help any member financially because it might cause problems

Why Sarah?  the two highlighted lines raises an eyebrow. why those could not be done?

In SW Zion, those 2 are rules as well but not exactly the same. You are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED [aka prohibited] not to "hang out" with members unless it is for the purpose of the gospel work because an innocent "hang out" is more likely to turn secular and unholy when you're not in Zion. But when I was in NW Zion, we had designated a place for members to gather and fellowship or study outside of Zion because many members were separated by the lake. It was unreasonable to go to Zion more than twice a week [Sabbath and 3rd day].

In SW Zion, only group leaders were allowed to give rides to people. You could give a ride if you got permission from your group leader. This is because they didn't want to "handicap" new members into thinking they didn't have to provide their own way to Zion. They didn't want the new member to blame you for them not going to Zion. They also didn't want you to end up being late because you're picking up a new member. The group leaders were able to "read" the member's faith to wager if giving them a ride would change their attitude about Zion or not. In NW Zion, we car pooled a lot because of the distance. Those of us who lived across the lake would try to ride together to save on the expense of a ferry ticket and gas.

Another rule: Do not make business arrangements with members. IE don't buy Avon, don't hire a babysitter, don't sale your car to a member, etc.

To address the original post here outside of my earlier response

Sexual segregation not sure about its scripturalness but its common in abrahamic religion in general.

and I am not sure "attendance sheet" qualifies as a rule more like a practice which again is common.

The cross issue is an idolatry issue so in that sense its in the Bible at least half way.

I just assumed the segregation was to keep the members from being distracted, especially single members. I've witnessed this in other churches. Not to the extreme as the WMSCOG does it. In other churches, a man and woman can sit in the pew just with considerable distance.

Too many rules for me. Why can’t one just go to church without “you can’t do this and that.? Let the bible be the bible. The more the bible is focused on, the less you can’t do this and that will be the issue.

At KF: it was said to us in a meeting. I was there. They have members living together who met at the church so that rule baffled me quite a bit. Both that you highlighted.

At Simon: granted it may be practiced elsewhere, it isn’t the norm in most churches and I don’t see it as biblical to have men and women sit separately. What could possibly happen between me and a man who sits next to me in church? What? we start a relationship? Come on. Or do we start fornicating in church? I mean, I’m trying to understand that. If that’s the case, we can assume we’ll have a lot of gay affairs going on as it was/is. However, that isn’t and wasn’t the case, so I don’t see all that as necessary.

As for the crosses where does it say not to enter a church with one on it. I don’t keep crosses or the like at home for a reason I already explained, which is completely different from the reason they give.

Because people aren't mature enough to not need the rules. A lustful man decides to sit next to the same pretty woman in the church. Why not? There's no rule against it.

So he sits near the same woman all the time; Perhaps he ends up married to her. These are some of the rules I hated about convent schools such as I attended. Him sitting afar from the girl he lusts for still only grows his curiosity even more.

the fact is it is a common iterpretation. even if it is silly, christians do silly counter productive things too.

In some cases, yes. "Happily" married couples have met in church. But in my case, I would rather not marry a 50 year old man in my late teens… pervert…… Plus, his intentions, even if he's not a creepy guy, of sitting next to her is not to be close to the word of God but to be close to her. She can easily be a distraction to him at any given moment of the entire sermon. In the fellowship hall, I believe men and women should be able to sit next to each other and talk if they want to. But when it's time for a lecture or sermon, the distractions need to be minimized.

Silly things Christians do.. HATS! Oyg.. it's like I'm at the races when I go to church and all these women have these lavish huge hats on.
