Are there any RULES enforced by the WMSCOG that do not appear in or come from the bible
- March 25, 2013 at 11:47 PM #57251
DisturbedParticipantYes Harry….all pastors are Korean no other nationality.
Let me think if I can come up with something better
March 25, 2013 at 11:53 PM #57252
Sarah2013ParticipantHi Harry.
F&M prayed to
Communication among members outside of church prohibited
Segregation (men and women)
A must to attend 3 services on Saturday/Sabbath-day, though a handful may violate this from time to time. I was one.
A must to attend 3rd day service/Tuesday
Attendance sheet during service
Do not go into any church with a cross above it
Do not give rides to any member. Only pastor allowed to do this if the need is necessary.
Do not help any member financially because it might cause problems

DisturbedParticipantI always wondered why men & women sat separate. I was told because mother set it up that way, to keep us from being distracted by the opposite sex
March 25, 2013 at 11:58 PM #57254
DisturbedParticipantI was also told mother instituted the 7:30pm/8pm sabbath day service.

DisturbedParticipantMeetings about who is/isn’t tithing
March 26, 2013 at 12:03 AM #57256
Sarah2013ParticipantTo attend any other church was to prostitute.
Yes, Disturbed, that will sound right to the naive ear but it actually creates a silent curiosity which can end up in temptation. This is why I don’t believe in sects which promote no marriage; as we can see more sick behaviours come as a result to such orders, which is unnatural.
On a side note: the title of today is Mo Money, Mo Money, Mo Money. Go figure….. 🙂
March 26, 2013 at 12:10 AM #57257
DisturbedParticipantHere is a good one….wait for it….being married for the gospel. A single female cannot have a house church but if she is/gets married she is allowed (if the house church opportunity presents itself).
March 26, 2013 at 12:19 AM #57258
Sarah2013ParticipantI see your point. I have some reservations on female leadership. I don’t know…. Since I’m not always right.
March 26, 2013 at 12:48 AM #57259
HarryParticipantWhat's a house church?
March 26, 2013 at 12:54 AM #57260
Sarah2013ParticipantI’m guessing it’s a church out of a house.
March 26, 2013 at 1:58 AM #57261
Love'n HoneyParticipantLiterally a house church is a church out of someone's house, yes. An office church is like a church in a suite of a building. An established church is an independent church building.

I see your female leadership and raise you 1 Timothy 2:11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
Insta-check-mate :O
And it's the new testament so no chance for "but it's only a shadow…" mumbo jumbo!
March 26, 2013 at 6:07 AM #57263
Sarah2013ParticipantWell… I might get chewed out for this but I don’t believe in female leadership. I feel we are designed to be back bones. Yet, we are the neck that allow the turn.
March 26, 2013 at 6:42 AM #57264
SimonParticipantto.many verses where paul acknowledges female leaders and jesus treats women equal to convince them
March 26, 2013 at 6:53 AM #57265
Sarah2013ParticipantThat’s Paul’s take though.
March 26, 2013 at 6:58 AM #57266
SimonParticipantDid paul contradict himself
March 26, 2013 at 7:00 AM #57267
Sarah2013ParticipantNo.
March 26, 2013 at 7:13 AM #57268
SimonParticipantThen we need to find what he means in his acknowledgement and in his denial.
Wmscog says the denials are about stumbling and no longer apply not sure
March 26, 2013 at 7:22 AM #57269
Sarah2013ParticipantDon’t understand.
March 26, 2013 at 7:37 AM #57270
SimonParticipantI don’t remember the verses off hand il see if it’s in my notes or I can remember more details
