Ahn Sahng Hong Vs. Sun Myung Moon

The World Mission Society Church of God claims that Ahn Sahng Hong was the Second Coming of Christ because he revealed certain “truths”, fulfilled certain “prophecies” and “restored” the Passover. But were Ahn Sahng Hong’s teachings his own original ideas? Let’s compare Ahn Sahng Hong’s teachings with those of Sun Myung Moon, the founder of the Unification Church (Moonies).

Jesus Coming On The Clouds…

(After quoting Hebrews 12:1 and Jude 1:12). “In these expressions–“such a great cloud of witnesses” and “clouds without rain, blown along by the wind,” clouds represent people with flesh.” – The Mystery of God and the Spring of the Water of Life, Chapter 15, The Son of Man Will Come in a Cloud, page 106

“What, then, is the word ‘cloud’ likened to? ‘Clouds’ would denote that which is vaporized (purified) from the dirty water on the earth. Water symbolizes the fallen man (Rev. 17:15). Then we may understand that the clouds would would signify the devout saints… Again “cloud” is often used, either in the Bible or in the classics, as a word representing a crowd (Heb. 12:1).” – Divine Principle, p. 514

(After quoting Daniel 7:13-14). “Jesus, however, did not come with the visible clouds of heaven, but was born as a baby through the body of Mary. Some say that the above prophecy of Daniel is about Jesus’ second coming. “This is because Jesus, though he was in fact born on the earth, was surely one who came from heaven…This is the reason why it was believed that the Lord would come on the clouds, even at the first coming (Daniel 7:13).” – Divine Principle, p. 514

Jesus Coming From The East…

Ahn Sahng Hong wrote about Elijah coming from the east in “Message to the Church in Laodicia” (pages 12-18) in 1960, which is still 15 years after Sun Myung Moon wrote his exposition of the same.

From the above excerpts, it is clear that Ahn Sahng Hong’s faulty interpretation of what clouds represent in the Bible and where Jesus is to return from, were not his own. Ahn Sahng Hong’s teachings were in fact plagiarized ideas from Sun Myung Moon.
