“Have you heard of the mother god?”  Chances are you bumped into someone on the street asking you this very question.  Welcome!  This site is for you.  Here you can find an in-depth study of this group whose official name is the “World Mission Society Church of God”, but is also known as the “Church of God”, or “Elohim Academy”.

There was a man named Ahn Sahng-Hong who came from the Seventh Day Adventist church.  After his death, his followers split.  Some of them formed the New Covenant Passover Church of God.  Others, began to worship a Korean lady named Zhang Gil-Jah.  Yes, you read that correctly–they think a lady living in Korea is god, and a dead Korean guy was Jesus.  This group is called the World Mission Society Church of God.  This group aggressively recruits, telling its members that the “mother [god] says we must bear ten talents” (a talent is a person who donates 10% of their gross salary).  It is this group which concerns our study.  Here at Examining the WMSCOG, you will find an in-depth study on the World Mission Society Church of God, including:
