In reply to Adam. Steven Hassan in the above article has described the WMSCOG very accurately. Their influence and cleverly calculated messages are delivered to targeted emotionally susceptible people. This influence should not be underestimated in its ability to control the recipients. I have first hand experience of this through my Vietnamese wife, who is both intelligent and very well educated. Thanks for reading. Dave from Birmingham, UK.

Mid last year I met a close friend through another friend I help with wedding photography. We decided to go on a trip to shoot a themed styled wedding in another state and the new girl who became my close friend came along. I thought this girl was so friendly and was so happy to have made such a good friend since moving to a new state. The friend mentioned the Passover and the Bible. I asked what the Passover was because I love learning about new stuff. She said she’d video chat with me and tell me about it for fun. I was like yay friendship Bible bonding time. Then I notice a girl I’ve never met in the group call and my friend says she will teach me…. I was kinda disappointed, but was thinking well I understand if she wants to just have Bible study. That’s fine. Well they made me have Bible study several times a week every week. My friend even said I don’t have my priorities on god basically because I was busy studying college work. They finally got to part where they said my church is not of god and I need to be rebaptized. Of course I was offended, but they explained so well. So one day I ask to come to interview them for a college assignment and I joke saying maybe I’ll get baptized too while I’m at it. Of course we ended up planning it…. I finally meet this stranger girl in person and she buys me food and mentions the mother god finally… and Ahn sahng and then says I’ll learn about it later… I go to the baptism, I hear in the name of anh sahng at least 3 times as they pour water over my head and I feel uncomfortable and possible ptsd symptoms days later to the point where I’m crying for weeks and not sleeping as I realize I was baptized under a false prophet and my friends deceived me. I’m currently trying to decide rather to delete my first cult friend from fb as she is still super nice to me but a couple days she mentioned studying again and keeping the Passover. I did not reply and when I think about it, I want to throw up. What should I do? The stranger girl says she wants to keep our friendship too.

Same here, I resonate what you have said .I am a current church leader and lead almost 50 people.I have studied the org through psychological perspective and found out to have influential mind control techniques implied. I want to get out without fuss but my wife is in it partially devoted.So for her sake I am behaving normally.
I joined the college again and have persued a career again after being completely empty handed giving all my time to the church. The leading people have good attitude and behaviours as long as you support them and assist them in any sort of way.
My mind also has been rewired by the doctrines so I feel uneasy thinking against it.Just pray I could get back normally.

In reply to Name (required). If you really studied the Bible you would NOT be studying in this group! You also would NOT be asking other to do so! Please read the Bible outside of the influence and direction of the WMS. View it with new eyes and read what it REALLY says and the context which it is speaking about. You will find that most of the WMS teachings don't stand up when compared to Gods Word. When the contradictions become apparent, throw that WMS teaching into the garbage. That is where it belongs if it does not measure up to the Word of God.

Judge for yourself what is right. When arrogance, anger, discontent, complaint, hate, and violence are supported on a website like this ask yourself if that could quite possibly be from God. The traits listed above are far from the teachings of true God. All I see in here is typing in all caps and people saying “Stay out of the Church of God” but it is funny because they never tell you where to go or why that church is the “correct” church.

By these traits you are heaping more wrath upon yourselves than you realize. Do not follow the rules of man and take solice in the glory a man bestows on himself. Yet be firm in your faith and test everything to find whether it came from God the creator of all, or man which is the creator of Judge for yourself what is right. When arrogance, anger, discontent, complaint, hate, and violence.

Hassan Hoax, draw your own conclusions. I could care less what title you’d like to or prefer not to use, but your logic is flawed. Additionally, it aggravates me when I hear members regurgitating the same “explanations”. Think for yourself!

You don’t trust anything with Hassan’s name stamped on it because he said He’s a cult expert? I challenge you to pick up a book about social psychology. Read it.

You don’t need a degree to become an expert in something! Think! Read! To be an EXPERt you should have training or EXPERience.

Wait a minute. Steve Hassan? The self-proclaimed cult expert? No where in the world can one get a degree in “cults” or have expertise in cults. Especially as a “self-proclaimed” one. That’s straightforward logic, since I’d like to find credibility if a group is actually a cult from someone who can RELIABLY make that judgment. Ridiculous. You might as well say that The Beatles are a cult.
