WMSCOG Recruiters

WMSCOG recruiters seem to be everywhere these days.  I understand that they are under a lot of pressure to recruit.  Does the quota of "10 talents" sound familiar to anyone?  I was just wondering if any of them look at a potential recruit and consider that if that person joins, they are looking at the next family or marriage that will be divided?  That new recruit may be the next person to cut off their friends and family, stop doing what they enjoy doing (or enjoying life in general), lose their job…  Do any of them feel guilty about being the one to cause havoc in that person's life?  Do any of them feel bad about deceiving that new recruit into joining by not telling them up front about the organization's demands?  Or do they just hope that the person joins so that they can be another "fruit" or golden star next to their name on the board?

It seems that misery really does love company.

these are what's going on in recruiter's mind: there is a sense of urgency (end of the world soon 2012), wmscog is the truth nothing else matters, wmscog vs the rest of the world (us vs them) mentality, and ultimate goal (saving souls, bring many seeds/talents etc.). recruiters would not feel guilty at all, on the contrary, he/she is doing something good.

it's vicious circle, very difficult to break.

Do they go door to door recruiting? What is their primary way of recruiting?

Wow, you really named yourself ahnsahnghong, eh? Interesting choice for a screen name.

But yes, the recruiter's feel they are doing good and that they are fullfilling God's mission. Remember that they feel that they have the truth and that they must save as many people as possible. It's not until they leave the organization, that they feel guilty about all the people that they deceived.

Very true. Not until after exiting. Makes sense anyway.

I never went preaching for the years I was there, but they do approach at colleges/university, malls, and sometimes the do door to door.

They will ask if you have heared of the second coming, at least in my case. They don’t reveal names at that point.

oh, ok.  I was just wondering.  I have relatives that are Jehovah's Witnesses and they do door to door preaching.  I believe they're supposed to do at least 10 hours per month and I know they say they're the only religion doing worldwide door to door preaching and they're the only religion fulfilling a scripture in Matthew about the good news of the kingdom being preached worldwide.

They certainly are faithful to preaching. If only the real motive was for the good of those they recruit.

I won’t call it good News, considering how negatively people have been impacted and torn apart.

Sarah2013, I’m curious how long you were there and how you got out of preaching, or how they reacted to you not participating in recruiting?

Fedupmom, I was there for about a couple years – just about. I just said I needed more studies so I understand what it is I’m doing. The Pastor was ok with it. I would participate in the preparation days. You have to understand it was a huge change for me – long story

Yes, the tithe seems all important.  The recruiter actually asked my relative's Dad to tithe, even though he doesn't attend the church regularly, and he had made it very plain to his son that he didn't believe the doctrine at all.  Still, even if he didn't believe, they would accept his tithe anyway.

No joke!  Pretty brazen, I think.  The recruiter may have gotten the wrong idea, though.  The Dad only went with his son to church to moot the argument that he "hadn't listened enough" and to see firsthand what was going on there.  He was always polite to the people at the church, and listened and asked questions, but at no time did he even pretend to believe the doctrine.  None of it.  He didn't lead anyone on, especially not his son.

The recruiter actually went through the member son to get him to ask his Dad to tithe.  The recruiter sent the son an email telling him to tell his Dad where to send the money.  The son sent the email to his Dad, although I think the recruiter had wanted to stay out of it.  A kind of "passing the buck" thing I guess.  But there was the churche's main recruiter's name on the email, and the instructions were all his.

See….. The recruiters are like pack mules or puppets-like to them. That’s just the problem I have with all this. Look at that situation.

I was told that there are 5 things that will definitely get you into heaven..

    1. PO

    2. Tithes

    3. 10 Talents

    4. Mother's Teachings

    5. Sabbath* [I'm not 100% but I think this was on the list]
