Obviously ISIS is the far extreme of cults and WMS is not telling its members to kill in mother's name, but the recruiting of members, making recruits feel like they have found the only truth, that they will be heroes and that they don't belong in society, is all the same as WMS.

I promise, i literally heard a VERY high up wmscog deaconess say “if Gil appeared to you in a vision, and told you to jump off a cliff-you have to do it because God said do it.” That’s crazy-that’s something only satan would tell someone to do! GOD WOULD NEVER EVER SAY DO THAT! That is wmscog teaching and is insane and is why i can’t stop worrying about my friends still in wms!

I saw this on 60 minutes and had the same reaction as you did, Ms. Freedom.  I told my husband the similarities are eerie.

Did anyone else see this on sixty minutes and have the same reaction?  I've seen similarities with them and Scientology (Going Clear Documentary) and also with several other cults that were documented, such as in "Holy Hell."  They aren't exactly alike, but the main basis for the cults are the same:  Individuals gaining money and power over others.
