So my wife been going to wmscog for about 4 months now at first she wouldn’t tell me the name of the church so i looked it up and seen how they destroy families and marrages and warned her she said no its not like that fast forward to a month later now and shes moved out said we can only be together if i join but i believe in only one god im just lost i pray every day for her to wake up whores part is we have a 2 year son she neglects cause the church

Thank you guys and i still see my wife and son when we visit its like we never split up only intel i let her know i love her and my son very much and then she tells me well u know what to do join the church its hard cause it feels like this place is keep my wife hostage or using her as a bargaining chip for me to join

cbr1k, you’d think the wmscog would teach their members to behave better with their ‘unbelieving’ spouses. 1 Cor. 7:12-14 and 1 Peter 3:1 address the subject. Basically, you are not to leave a spouse just because they are an ‘unbeliever’ but you are to ‘win them over’ with your behavior.

could somebody please explain to me what a gospel worker for the wmscog does cause i have a feel the group is trying to send my wife away on missions cause we were starting to work things out seeing one another like twice a week now all a sudden saturday she tells me shes a gospel work and live for the word now and has no time for a relationship with me thing is we have a 2 year old we split custody of but me and my wife haven’t filed for a divorce i was hoping to work thing out with her but iv been reading that the group will send members away if family try to take the members time away from the church

Hello, cbr1k.

 

I do not speak for all Zions of WMSCOG out there, but gospel workers typically spends his/her day studying the Bible and preaching to non-members outside Zion or by door to door. Usually, they would stay in Zion all day for the Bible Studying, or they would go to Zion in all of their free time (i.e.: after work or after school).

I know some people who would go somewhere very far away for at least 1 week. There were Koreans who would go overseas and preach to non-members in the foreign country. Other times, the members of Zion would travel to a different place (within the country) and would preach to non-members in their destination.
