Who sinned? The man or his parents?

I can't tell you how many times I've heard things like someone must have sinned in order to be born like that or the parents must have done something really wrong for God to cause their baby to be still born. Where does this idea of prebirth sin come from? In John 9:1-3 Jesus and the Disciples discuss a topic like this. "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned… but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life." None of these people sinned and caused this? Kinda blows the whole "We sinned in Heaven" thing out of the water. If you read further in John you find Christ claimed to be "light of the world." I don't think that this revelation here is an accident as Jesus brought literal light to someone who had lived in darkness his entire life. It was for God's glory that this man was born blind. The truth reveals itself.

In a way, sin begets sin. Some things are designed for the glory of God, while some things are due to generational sins passed down.

I've heard it said that you can tell if someone was a good parent by the grandchildren. If the parents raised their kids right then those kids should raise their own children right. It stands to reason. Not sure how it relates to this topic?

I’m often off topic but my point are often sensible.

They use this verse to prove it actually. He’s saying blindness wasn’t on account of sin not none of them sinned

You may or may not be right about what he meant but the actual words he used were that they did not sin. I checked multiple translations.

within context it’s clear plus the whole for ALL have sinned thing.

Also even if that weren’t true it’s still what they say

I agree with you about what this verse means. Problem with the wmscog is that they can shift between literal and not literal at will.

That may be true, Simon, but most real Christians do not do so deceptively – that’s the difference. Look at how many times Wmscog changes the meaning of scripture at will. All done in the name of trying to implement Ahang and Zhang into the Bible. If you think about it, just about anyone can do the same. Well… A non-God-fearing individual.

I think other Christians do it to keep their congregation numbers high enough to keep the church.

I have lots of strong beliefs about this, but it should be true.

My daughter is well behaved. I didn't do half the things my mom did when she was my age or younger. I also don't have the desire to. I'm so hoping my daughter is the same way in many ways but different for the better.

I read about a protestant church that was originally preaching the truth and was against Gay relations, saying is was unholy, but then they got a lot of backlash, next thing you know it they changed so they keep their congregation, they're only in it for the money!

I’m guessing, FTOS, that your church and that Protestant church can share notes.

Would never work with us because gays will never go to heaven in the bible(unless they stop their "deeds"), only notes we use is from the bible, sorry to disappoint.  Just like sunday worshipers.

My missionary told me that you only have a chance to go to heaven if you never actually did anything. I told her I thought I was a lesbian, and still do.. or maybe I'm bisexual.. Idk… and she asked me if I acted on any of my feelings. I said no. She said I was ok.
