Where do tithes & offerings go?

As a member I was taught that our tithes & offerings go to the “True God” in the order of Melchizedek. We keep the New Covenant Passover and in return give a tenth of everything to God. Now I was told all the money goes to Korea and “mother” determines how the money is spent, as she is god on earth. Now I’m hearing the church is distancing themselves from Korea saying they’re not affiliated with the WMSCOG headquarters in Korea. I wanted to confirm this before I made this post. I found the exact information in the lawsuit WMSCOG and Mark Ortiz against Michele Colon and Tyler Newton. Lines 34 and 35 state this church is an independent entity, legally and functionally.

If that is so, where the heck did my tithes and offerings go? In case you can’t tell I’m angry as heck! I never questioned this while I was a member because since they told me the money goes to Korea why would I think my “church” would lie to me. But why do we defer to Korea headquarters for so many things then if the churches are independent entities? You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Either you are separate or not. I have not seen or heard of any financial transparency so the question remains….where do the tithes and offerings go?

Where do the tithes and offerings go?

Anyone have a valid answer? Where do the tithes and offerings go?

Imagine what some of those who have put well over so many thousands of dollars  think and feel.

I remember when I went to Sunday church I never tithed because I knew they were corrupt. I would put in a few dollars but certainly not ten percent. At wmscog they taught us all other churches are tithing to satan because they don’t tithe correctly in the order of Melchizedek. Now I’m wondering who I was tithing to at wmscog, certainly not the True and Living God.

Anyway, where do the tithes and offerings go?! Maybe it’s being spent on upfront attorney fees to file lawsuits against former members, high security at the church (security cameras, high fences), salaries of the Americans that are doing the church’s dirty work (so the Koreans can say, “we didn’t do whatever we’re being accused of” or “we didn’t instruct the members to do X, Y, Z”).

Something HAS to go to Korea or they have no motive to exist

Regardless of who is doing the dirty work, all will be guilty by conspiracy.

I heard when the Americans go to Korea, the “brothers and sisters” treat the Americans like rock stars. I would too if I knew they were financing us to get new temples. I used to get agitated every time a new Elohist magazine came out and they were having a celebration because of a new temple. I tried not to “grumble” but kept thinking what about us over here. All they’re doing in America is opening up more house & office churches.

Still the question remains….where do the tithes and offerings go?

@ Disturbed: LOL on that last statement. You just want to know where the money goes. Nice one.

@Simon…you are right to say we will not know. There has to be a legal way we can see the true books of this church and not the “cooked” books. Cooked books are the fake ones they would show to accountants or a government agency.

Anyway….the church has to answer…where do the tithes and offerings go?

Ultimately no one can really say they aren't liars now though because they are either lying to the members or lying to the courts that's the important thing

Although I think you meant 58-61?

    58. “Hailey” claimed that Plaintiff lies to the IRS and that she would “expose the inconsistencies between what the World Mission Society Church of God says and what they to the IRS.” “Hailey” claimed that Plaintiff “LIES ABOUT HOW THEIR [sic] CHURCH WAS FOUNDED ON THEIR [sic] TAX EXEMPT STATUS!”

    59. “Hailey” claimed that because Plaintiff and the other branches of the Church report to the IRS independently, Plaintiff “denies that [it] ha any relationship to another organization despite having a clear connection to the WMSCOG in California” and despite being “controlled by the main location“ in South Korea.

    60. “Hailey” stated that the different branches of the church report separately to the IRS in “an attempt to minimize the appearance of their growth and remain under the IRS’s radar” to falsely imply that Plaintiff is lying to and misrepresenting its corporate status to the IRS.

    61. Although Plaintiff may look to the headquarter Church in South Korea for guidance, Plaintiff and the other Church branches in America are separately organized entities for financial and tax purposes. The American branches are independent corporate entities and report as such to the IRS.

Your findings are in addition to mine. I took directly from the lines I stated.

Could be. I stated above which case my findings came from. It’s all good though because all of it comes from cases the church has filed against ex members or people speaking out about the church. Either way…the church says they are a separate entity.

So then wmscog…where do the tithes and offerings go?

I just realized something else! They send books and whatever other materials through members suitcases when they return from Korea for the following two reasons I suspect: 1) to avoid shipping costs/taxes and/or not having to declare items coming though customs and 2) by not receiving items shipped items from Korea no one can “prove” they are affiliated with Korea as they are an independent entity. Hmmmm maybe TSA/customs need to be alerted about this.

Someone has to declare it no matter whether its the members or shipped.

Also I know they ship books and stuff too because we got new stuff far more often than we had trips to Korea along with the sheer number of copies being so huge and I have seen the huge cardboard boxes containing them.

    I dunno
