I saw the address of this "Big shine WW" on their website is same as my church's physical location. So is this a company or church actually? So confused! Can anyone explain to me coz I wonder where is my tithe going to?

Sarah2013ParticipantJust like the movie “Shine” it’s really a mystery – watch it. ๐

Sarah2013ParticipantInteresting link. Hmmmm.

DisturbedParticipantI agree…I see a familiar name besides Mr Kim. Hot mess!

emilParticipantSpeculation again, a possibility is money laundering. If wmscog is legally unable to take money out of the country, they could siphon off money to BS under the garb of payment for services provided by BS.

SimonParticipantI don’t see why they couldn’t send money to Korea idk though
June 5, 2013 at 1:13 PM #51119
emilParticipantThe restriction, if any, could stem from their tax exempt status. If a country provides tax exemption, it is likely that there will be restrictions to remit money abroad. Is there someone here who knows about these things? Hal, where are you?

SimonParticipantDoesn’t the Roman Catholic church internationally pool any money
June 6, 2013 at 5:27 AM #51121
emilParticipantI am not sure about it. The money we put as an offering every Sunday in my country is allocated each Sunday of the month. I believe in my parish, alternate Sundays the collection is either for the parish or for the diocese. Not sure if any of it goes to Rome. There are rare special Sundays where the collection goes to the missions but that again is within our country. Sorry I haven't been much help.

DisturbedParticipantYou mean to tell me there are some Koreans who werent let in on the con?! Park better start walking about Korea asking his/her people some doggone questions!

Internationally pool money….No
Some wealthier parishes will give money to the poorer ones in their area and the diocese gets some money.
In theory The Propogation of the Faith headquartered in NYC is as close as you get to collecting internationally but 95% of that money comes from the USA and gets spread out internationally

StainedParticipantEver notice how excited they get when someone gets Baptized ? Ever see the anxiety in their faces until it's done ? Think that's because they're happy a soul was saved ?
June 8, 2013 at 7:17 AM #51132
DisturbedParticipantAnd you’re not considered a talent until you tithe. Now if that’s not dollars and cents I don’t know what is.
