I'm still recovering from my religious trauma which results to my petty insults to every church out there. But I wanted to ask, what is the new covenant described in Jeremiah 31:31?
PS: No, cultists are not allowed to answer this question. I've seen and heard enough of your lies and I don't want to eat any of your shit anymore.

The ChiveParticipant32 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the LORD, I will put My law in their inward parts, and in their heart will I write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people;
33 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying: 'Know the LORD'; for they shall all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.
Basically the meaning is that the Torah will be lived by all Israelites (physical, not the spiritual) for it will be written in the hearts.. It doesnt attest to any sort of redoing of the Torah, rather that the covenant will be conveyed into the hearts and that the law will be lived by all jews.

SimonParticipantIf I recall it is more accurately rendered renewing the covenant

but what exactly is the new covenant? Maybe if I get to know what it is, I can finally find peace in me.

Love'n HoneyParticipantHere's my guess:
2 Cor 3:6 basically says the OC brings death. If you think about it.. it does. The punishment for many things was death. The reward for doing everything right was a longer life that lead to death. But the NC gives life. The promise is eternal life. Obey the greatest command from God (to love everyone) and you will receive eternal life. Which is odd to me because it doesn't matter what you do, you're going to receive eternal life. Eternal life in heaven or eternal life in hell. So.. I guess this NC, new promise, is life.
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Maybe you should ask Billy and Minion why they aren't following Christ's commandment? They obviously DON'T love you!

The ChiveParticipantThe problem is the term "New Covenant".. How does one have a "New Covenant" if one does not have an "Old Covenant". How can Jesus (and later through Paul), state that the "New Covenant" is through Jesus rather than what is written in the previous Jewish scriptire. If I get married, then decide to renew my vows, is that a "New Covenant"? No, its a renewal not a "New Covenant".
The problem lies within the interruptation. One needs to read the whole chapter to under stand the meaning, not pick and choose.
