I just watched this Telemundo report about the Wmscog and its leaders. It is so sad that this people work so hard for nothing. No one can guarantee them heaven, eternal life, neither that they are part of the 144000. Not even their goddess. They ended the report saying that they wish to open more churches in the US.

Propaganda was nothing new for wmscog, why do you think overseas members were always "suggested" to visit budang and do that cool Kodak moment where everybody stands in that field outside the elohim academy, gosh they even made a poster from that photo and hang it on every sion i know of.

The one where it looks like Woodstock ?  LMAO !  Madonna should have that many at her concerts.

Thats true Stained. I will have to pay 20 dollars when it was the time for my team to cook. On top of tithes and Offerings, Commettee Offerings, and the brown envelope for Offerings destined to bills for the Church.

My relative gives around $1,000 per month but they gave him a sob story about how they had such high utility bills, etc., and I guess that is one way they try to wring even more money out of those they know they can get it from.  Meanwhile, he has no retirement, no savings. He has health concerns of his own that require some money to take care of, but they don't seem to care.

Jezz, is he making 10 grand a month where 1 grand is 10 percent ? Oh and he probably thinks he's protected by the passover for those health concerns.

No, he doesn't make anything near that amount, but the pastor got him in a special meeting and told him exactly how much he should tithe, and then of course you know, that the real "blessings" come from what you give above the amount of tithe.  So he gives like crazy.  Emphasis on crazy!  (just kidding)  He actually gave around $25,000 in one year just recently.  And I  suppose he is told his health concerns are because he has doubts or is being tested or something.  Once it was sounding like they were likening him to Job, so I figure that is what they tell him.  He's a "special one" being tested by God in "special ways" I guess.

Just some FYI, the church (unlike other religous institutions) does not have state tax exempt status. So when the members buy food or stuff to work on the church, they turn the reciepts in and can deduct it as a charitable contribution as part of the tax returns.

I was always told to turn in my receipts to the Kwonsanim or my missionary.

When you got the letter at the end of the year from the church, it shows a total amount of what you gave. You can deduct that as a charitable contribution on your taxes. Its a roundabout way for the church to get free stuff and for the member to get a charitable contribution.

I didn't know that.. and I never got a letter.

that letter is not for the members, it mostly adressed to your konsanim or jibsanim, basically it really just about praising your local konsanim if he or she is making enough money or a complaint if he or she dont make enough.

I got that letter every year to be shown in my taxes but it does not count as much if is not more than certain amount depending on the State. The way they report that is as donations. The letter says the amount that you have contribute for that year.

You may want to send them a certified letter requesting a copy.  As a non-profit, they are required to give it to you, especially if you request it in writing.
