In another post Emily brought up another concept that I feel deserves its own posting. WMS members are taught that their doctrine is the only real truth. By labeling it as such it leaves no room for discussion or correction. I say this because if anything is brought up that contradicts their teachings then they believe that it can’t be the truth and therefore must be a lie. In the members minds everything that we bring up here seems to be a lie. Only when a WMS member can get past this does the truth become relevant. Only when the truth becomes relevant does the arguments stop. It’s no wonder that some people can’t seem to stop arguing no matter what has been proven or revealed.

I’ve never been hypnotized from what I remember. I’ve seen people who have been hypnotized and when they were broken free of it, they don’t remember a thing. What if we’re all hypnotized to some degree and only believe what we agree with because of the nypnosis but not because of our own selves?? Major conspiracy. Bum bum buuuum. =)

Have you ever sat for a sermon or study and you don't really remember the middle of it? There are many ways that your subconscience can be influenced. This is one reason why I do not like the idea of people infultrating the WMS or going back in just to gain more information. We don't totally understand the extent this group uses mind control only that they do use it.

with me the sermons I either remember them well enough I could give them myself with a little effort or I can't really remember them at all.

Yes Kim, I only clicked on the first link but it starts off with just the right idea. The WMSCOG spends a great deal of effort regressing people to a point of childlike dependency. Removing much of our God given ability to reason for ourselves. This makes members much more willing to accept the teachings and cause the lack of freedom that this author talks about. Not to sound really harsh but many times I get the attitude from these members that they know it's real because mommy told them so. This is not freedom and it is certainly not being the child of the free woman as the WMS likes to put it. Kim, nice link, keep up the good work.

I can’t say that I haven’t remembered the sermon without a reason. When I don’t remember a sermon or bible study its because I wasn’t paying attention. Reading some passage in the bible or looking for something in the bible. But I don’t recall a moment where I wasn’t diliberately* doing something other than listening to the sermon and don’t remember anything. I will say, though, that has. Happened to me plenty of times in my everyday life. My daughter even asked me one day if I was back…… that’s scary because idk what she meant by that being that I hadn’t left.
