Tithing for the church

    Here is my dilemma for those who are members of the COG;

I was told that the members are expected to tith at least 1/10th of their earnings to the church. In a sense, I see no wrong for an intention of donating God-given earnings to the organization which in return would spend it all for the sake of God as long as the organization is being transparent with spending so as to keep it kosher. Honestly, I really do not think that wmscog does that…

Now, if the members are encouranged to share the wealth with the church why they are absulately "advised" not to help each other. Supposedly, they call each others brothers and sisters. I cannot think of my brother not helping in case I need help. How can you be my brother or sister if you are not willing to extend a hand when I am down? How could you justify being and doing good if you choose to be obliviant for your fellow who is in agony? If you see me in fire(figuratively), won't you come for my aid?

Once they told me it might create a conflict if the favor was not returned. In other words, if you loan money to someone who is in need and maybe you will never see a dime of it, it might disturb the "ambiance" of the church. My question would be if you are so eager to give away your earning for the mother, why won't you help those in need? Can't you help someone with no return and just say "pay it forward"? I guess COG is more concerned about hogging the money for themselves…

What about those who lose their jobs and God forbid don't get a job immediately and skip their weekly donations? They would get an ultimatium to get a job or else… well, in life, not everything is peachy. Maybe, you cannot get a job immediately. Maybe, you cannot work for sometime because of health issues. Maybe,… what I would expect is to get support from my brothers and sisters when I am in difficulty. You are supposed to be my brothers and sisters.

There was a girl in the place where I used to work. She was a member of COG. She was going through a tough time and having health issues as well. I wanted to help her, but I did not want her to take my approach in a wrong way. So, I asked a friend of hers who happened to be also a member. She told me that it is her problem and she might be paying for her bad deeds. She should be left alone and it is better that she prays God for forgiveness.

I really cannot make of this church to anything. They are so nice and loving from outside but pretty cruel inside. I don't understand how one can embed love of God in heart where one does not have one…

All tells me that your complacent beliefs will NOT echo in eternity. And, all soon will come to an end, your highness!

    Great multitude duh

I get that but which of the 2 mill are the 144000 and which are the great multitude? Who knows? You know the answer to my other question of what happens at the end?

No one knows until the end (except Mother™)

So, by their own rekoning, there are 1,856,000 members who are deluding themsleves about being among the 144000?

If that was an accurate number it is now 1,855,998 because 2 more left Ridgewood this week

The 140000 is not meant to be literal. They do NOT teach that.

Maybe in your branch. In my branch they do teach it's a literal number and not only that, Ahnsahnghong wrote against the people that thought that it wasn't a literal number in one of his books.

It's so upseting, that even though the "building of the temple" finished in 2012 and now we are just "inspecting the temple"… still in this feast of tabernacles they keep saying "let's build the temple" …

So does this mean all that money we gave to these people was without blessing? As in paying it forward? Hard question to answer, I think.

I guess when you stop paying your tithes its like stopping payment of your insurance premium. You got to get yourself insured by another company now.

What a brilliant post! So many valid points. This cult is truly about about fear and control and the Koreans truly do think themselves the master race. Where are the non Korean pastors? Why is everything controlled by one culture and one race on a global environment? Because the cult calls itself the world mission , but only allows Koreans to know it all. Or perhaps is it a world mission to milk the rest of the world for their money?

Why is there no financial transparency on any and all transactions? Because they ask that you give money (10%) and various offereings, but yet when you wanna enquire about how it is spent then you're told that's worldly? When you give it it's fine but when you wanna know what they do with it you're being evil? Truly these people are destructive.

Great point about the city of refuge being absolute kak. Because Jesus the high priest did die (twice if you consider ash jesus), if then that was a prophecy as they claim then why are we still on earth? Why are people continuously being born?  Because according to the prophecy the accused is free when the high priest dies. Why, out of my own free-will, am I not allowed to transform into an angel and leave the prison aka city of refuge? The earth = City of refuge? Bollocks!

Thought I might update the forum with their latest teachings as of Nov 2015.

144,000 is to be taken literally. It is like a ranking system where the top 144,000 are the ones with strongest faith.

The 144,000 will be transformed with mama z on the last day, while great maltitude will die first then be resurrected

Now I sincerely hope they don’t do something like the People’s Temple one day.

They won't.  You can't get more money from dead people.  And more money is mainly what they are about, believe me.  Some leaders do get off on the power and control thing too, but the money is the driving force.
