A new post showed up that raised a new idea. It’s really simple and I’m surprised I didn’t think about it before. Will current members go online and search for the oldest English text of the Bible and read their chosen scriptures from there? Right now the WMSCOG uses the NIV which is very conducive to the angle they push onto their members. I wonder if members researched a more original English version if what is written would be different enough to wake some of them up?
@Mayor Well, battling verse for verse IMO doesnt work because they have an answer for everything. I think focusing on how their thinking process doesnt add up, works better.
For instance;

Why did ASH lie about Jerusalem Mom
Why did ASH say that since Isaac is a prophetical Christ, then marrying “Jerusalem” is a terrible thought? Etc
Their thinking and thought process, when allowed to stay in a scripture vs. Scripture arena is a hard fight. Hell it reminds me, of the YT vids where evangelicals claim Obama is the Anti-Christ, and have 100 verses all misconstrued up, to prove their points.
@Warrior Well, when you move, there is an excellent chance he will see the difference. As for moving up the latter, here are two examples. One “friend” of mine in WMS was a bit younger than myself, in his early to mid twenties my time there. Pretty early on he preached to his girlfriend and she joined. They were together for about two years and broke up. The young lady immediately after, gave up her books, notes and left WMS.Now since the break up was a lil’ hard and they valued the brother, he immediately was chosen to go to Korea, and right after he got back, was chosen to lead the teenage boys group. And as Mayor said, if your hubby starts “rockin” a crqzy looking comb-over part in his hair, its over. Anyway, why did they do this?
1. A partner(Husband/Wife/Gf or BF) leaving may influence the person leaving. If they give that person who stays a title, they will feel compelled to stay. My friend soon after coming back from Korea, started parting his hair.
Back to the hair parting thing. Check out the Today show interview with Missionary Powers. He has one. Its a cheesy, gelled comb-over part. The Koreans wear it. My 2nd year in it started picking up. A few of us were secretly told; “Fodder had a part, so det why members get one to, dont you want look like fodder?”. So we began seeing alot of male members who wanted to be considered “faithful”, do this. It looks cheezy. On a subconscious level, its a way of issuing control. As another exmember told me, they would see African American members, with our thick kinky hair trying this “part”, come to church looking like Frederick Douglas. They also justify the attire because “Fadder alway wore suits”. Now Im referencing Overseers and Deacons dress code, OUTSIDE of the church. With my first Overseer, the deacons at a non-service event, had to wear shirts with out ties, and have them tucked in. We had a bowling party once. The deacons wore Khakis, Polo shirts tucked in and hard bottom shoes. They couldnt or rarely wore jeans and sneakers.
Okay, I'll have to look at some course material. I'll call it the Staff of Moses 201 course, it'll be taught at the examiners university. Lol.
@Untouchable, haven't you noticed that whenever there is an issue or problem, the cog will come up with an explaination to explain away the problem. Like the "God can't lie" issue, head office made a cartoon video with examples to explain away the problem why ASH had to lie.
Going back to translations and languages for a moment. I have a few questions. When Israel wrestled with the angel, what language did they speak? Did the angel speak South Korean? When Moses went up the mountain and spoke to God face to face, what was the language God used to speak to Moses? What is the Heavenly language?

@untouchable see I’m terrified moving will either help prove its false or push him deeper then he is here.. Seemingly this zion is a lot more laid back then most.. Lol the hair parting thing is just too much.. I literally can’t see kinky hair doing it.. It would be easier to razor a line in.. Lol!! I know what you mean about attire.. My husband refuses to go anywhere without being dressed up now.. It’s dumb something’s cause it’s extremely hot and he sweats like crazy, but he will iron and literally get ready for church to go to the grocery store!!

@warrior, sounds like you have an aspiring cog gospel worker on your hands. Do tell us when he starts sporting the part. Did you say you are moving? Are you moving because the cog has told him to?Maybe within the week I'll post scriptures and meanings from memory in the biblical arguments section. I'll show what verses they use to create division. Somewhere I read that even the Hebrews cannot be saved. The church goes that far to make division. It will be good to know what he is being taught. With that said, I've been out for a while and the cog would have rolled out new teachings since then.
@Mayor Yes, they make a cheezy cartoon. When it comes to something they want to approach more serious, they make the dark biopic type documentary to play on Saturday, betweeb services. You know the one with the guy with the creepy voice, talking over Orchestra music that sounds like an action scene in Star Wars.
@Warrior His dress is an argument AGAINST his points. When he argues about WMS not changing him ask hik, “Then why dress in a suit, to do the most simple task?”. Your dress code for most part, DOESN’T dictate your salvation. He may be told the whole, “age of holy spirit” crap…but my wearing a pair of shorts and sneakers doesnt mean Im going to hell. Jesus made reference to that. That further reiterates the COG arrogance. They won’t preach to those who don’t fit a perceptualization of Righteous, which is BIGOTRY! I have friends who make 6 figures, who if you follow the same perceptualizations, you might think they don’t have 10$ to their name. Jesus preached to the poor. Not WMS. Jesus healed the sick. WMS won’t preach at a hospital. You can also remind him of that, if he tells you “We preach to the poor”, he is telling a TALL tale.
Back to your previous point. The Overseers are masters at gathering issue and intels about peoplea relationships. They use the, “Im your friend” trick. “You can trust me bredder”, so that your husband shares your/his marital frustrations with the Overseer and NOT you. They did this subtle trick with my wife and I. Our ex overseer made subtle jabs, and tried to sow disention several times. Strengthen your marriage by reminding him that Nobody can be greater council than the two of you together. Remember many of these Overseers have unrealistic suggestions and couldn’t council a person out of a paper bag. Our first Overseer, who har an arranged Korean wife and No kids, was always trying to give parenting advice. He wouls walk away afterwards feeling self validated.
