This was posted up at my work. It’s relevant so I am sharing it with all of you. Start with a cage containing five monkeys. Inside the cage, hang a banana on a string and place a set of stairs under it. Before long, a monkey will go to the stairs and start to climb towards the banana. As soon as he touches the stairs, all of the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. After a while, another monkey makes an attempt with the same result, and all the other monkeys are sprayed with cold water. Pretty soon the monkeys will try to prevent it.
Now, put away the cold water. Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one. The new monkey sees the banana and wants to climb the stairs. To his surprise and horror, all the other monkeys attack him. After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to climb the stairs he will be attacked.
Next, remove another of the original five monkeys and replace it with a new one. The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous newcomer takes part in the punishment with enthusiasm! Likewise, replace a third original monkey with a new one, then a fourth, then the fifth.
Every time the newest monkey takes to the stairs, he’s attacked. Most of the monkeys that are beating him have no idea why they were not permitted to climb the stairs or why they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey. After replacing all of the original monkeys, none of the remaining monkeys have ever been sprayed with cold water. Nevertheless, no monkey ever again approaches the stairs to try for the banana.
Why do members of the WMSCOG continue to do things the way they do even after learning of some of the major problems with their doctrine? Because that’s just the way it’s done and to raise too many questions is to bring judgment down. The truth is available to them but when they reach for it they are beaten down by the group.

There are many "religious" groups that exist primarily for profit. Just take a look at cable tv, it is full of "Christian" carnival barkers hocking their brand of "religion" and asking for donations. But these jokers are not about dangerous mind control, as WMSCOG, MOON, James Jones, David Koresh, Charles Manson, etc. I think it is important to recognize the difference. Our concern about WMSCOG is not about their theology, per se. It is about the mind control strategies employed and the damage they do to people's lives. And their families.

You are correct. Inspired is too weak a word. A more correct word would be duplicated. In South Korea, many groups, like the young men who started WMSCOG in the late 80's, were inspired by the success of Moon. WMSCOG is different than Moon in certain small aspects of theology, but the main underpinning of mind control techniques were DUPLICATED from those used so successfully by Moon.

WMSCOG was started in 1964 whether you want to admit it or not it was Fathers first disciples are are the leaders TODAY along with Mother to whom he moved assembly. There is a picture of the last assembly Father attended do you know who was present? Father Mother General Pastor and the other gentlemen who are always in the pictures next to Mother.

Actually the idea of a Heavenly Mother WELL predates Moon. Just because others do not belive in a Christ form does not mean he invented the idea (assuming it is false you CANNOT credit Moon)

You have no reason to believe Ahnsahnghong and Zahng Gil Jah EVER had sexual relationg or that she was a prostitute (we both know was a concubine is)

Jesus was killed by Romans, not Jews. While the Jews were not unhappy he was killed, the actual killing was done by Romans. The Romans saw him as a rabble rouser and something of a revolutionary. According to Pontius Pilate, he left it up to the Jews to determine whether or not death was warranted. The Jewish leaders said Yes. So the Romans (not Jews) crucified him. To Shimon: You will eventually, like most, find your way out of this. I hope you don't reject Christianity all together when you do. Even though I am not Christian, I believe that Christianity, if practiced the way the Gospels and St. Paul set forth, is a good thing. Unfortunately, your desire for faith led you to a mind control cult …. that is not Christian, in my opinion.
To Shimon: WMSCOG was started approx 2 years after the death of Ahn. Ahn started his church in the early 1960's, and it continues in Korea under the name NCPOG. New Covenant Church of God. Ahn did NOT have anything to do with WMSCOG. The young men starting WMSCOG borrowed him after he died to start their church. AND they stole his last young girlfriend to be the Heavenly Mom.
actually they have all of the handwritten copies of the book the truth and fathers original bibles with his hand written notes in them they also have all of the general assembly from the original church if you compare the pictures with on ahnsahnghong in them to the pictures of the people who are with mother
