The bride in Rev. 22:17 gives the water of life?

The WMSCOG insist that the bride in Revelations 22:17 is also giving the water of life so therefore she is God becuase only God has authority to give life. Also in order to receieve enternal life we MUST come to both the Spirit and the bride, because according to them, BOTH are giving life. Well let's find out if their claim is actually true and is biblical.

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Where does it say the bride is actually giving the water of life and has the same authority as God? Notice how it doesn't really say that. Just because the Spirit and the bride are saying "Come!" Does not imply that the bride is giving life along with the Spirit. If that were true, then will the WMSCOG also insist that the one who hears and says "Come!" is also God? That one is also saying "Come!" just like the bride is.

Jesus said in John 4:14- "but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life." So who is giving the water of life? It is Jesus Christ. Nowhere in the bible does it say that the bride is actually giving the water of life. If the WMSCOG says we MUST come to both the Spirit and the bride to recieve life because of what it says in Rev. 22:17. Then they must also say we MUST come to the Spirit, bride, and who ever hears. All are saying "Come!" Are they not?

It is Jesus that gives the water of life. Which means, to recieve it, we MUST go to Him and Him only. It is un biblical to say that the bride gives life. Jesus Christ said He is the Truth the way and the life. To go to someone else for life is un biblical.

There are two threads which are duplicates; this one and 5360. It would be nice if Admin would delete one of the threads.

FTOS, I have added more to what serg has said in the other thread. Can you refute that too while in the process of refuting this one? As Simon mentioned, you have not refuted this yet. Answer the point that the Spirit, the bride and the one who hears is inviting. So how can you claim that the bride is also god?

Emil keep up. and stop overlooking everyones posts, you have not proved that the bride is the saints (church) can you answer that and also how you expect to come down out of heaven from God (Rev 21)

I don't have to prove who the bride is. My faith is not linked to that in any way. I can prove who the bride is not. It is not ZGJ. Your faith hinges entirely on the interpretation that she is the bride. Is she the literal bride or the spiritual bride?

This thread is about ZGJ not being the bride of Rev 22:17. Enough evidence has been provided for that. I refuse to go on a wild goose chase and divert from the topic.

I had posted further comments to serg's original post in the other thread. Since it got duplicated, I will copy/paste my post here for the benefit of the other side.

it is good that you started this thread. I was going to start one about this today myself because those guys put words in my mouth in another thread that has become too unwieldy. So here's something from me.

The WMSCOG claims that this verse proves Zahng is God because only God can give us living waters. Let us examine this passage closely.

Rev 22:17 – The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

This verse says that the Sprit, the bride and the one who hears are inviting to come. If we say that only God can give living waters then one must wonder how the person who hears is also calling. If we argue that the caller is not necessarily the giver, then that makes the bride's role ambiguous. This book is in the category of apocalyptic literature which is always hard to interpret because of a vast amount of symbolism. It is worth truning to other scriptures which talk about the same thing more clearly. serg already provided us with Jn 4:14

Jn 4:14 – but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

The water that Jesus gives us, wells up within us as a spring.

Jn 7:37-39 – On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.” 39 By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.

Now this makes it much clearer. The water that Jesus is talking about is the Holy Spirit. Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit. This living water overflows out from us. That is why, all believers have the ability to say "come", inviting people to receive the living water of the Holy Spirit that flows out from us. That is how, we too can lay hands on others and allow God to pour the Holy Spirit on to them.

It is clear that the living water is the Holy Spirit. Not only God, but every believer can invite others to receive the same Holy Spirit.

I think we should ignore him here as his replies on this thread will reference outdated and clarified claims
