When I brought up the COG's end of days predictions, my girl told me that she was taught that no one knew when the end would come. This seems to be a general concensus amongst most christians, that no one knows the day or the hour. I'm sure there's even some scripture I could cite here to back that up. However, reading the 'changes in the green book' article on this site, I came across something odd.
In the 1993 edition, on pp 59-60, Ahnsahnghong says "…by studying the works of Moses we can clearly find out the truth about the relations between Jesus and us and everything that Christ will do in the future and even the appointed day concerning His second coming."
This is changed in the 2010 edition a little bit, to make it fit with the COG's doctrine that ASH was the second coming. Something we'll all agree that he most likely did not believe himself. What hadn't struck me before was the part about "…even the appointed day concering his second coming."
Right there, he said that by studying the Torah that you could somehow divine THE APPOINTED DAY of the return of the messiah. Nevermind that he did or didn't think he was the second coming, doesn't this put him in the same group as the Harold Campings, the Millerites, and the like?
Yet another example of the COG teaching one thing, Ahnsahnghong saying the opposite, and neither of them being anywhere near 'the truth'.
