I hope it does not happen the same as it was before last year. I really feel bad for the good people that stayed in the church because if dissaster comes and the buidlings get damaged they have to pay it from their pocket and fix it.

What happened last year? Was there damage to the church? The members paid for it and fixed it too?

jellybeanParticipantHurricane Irene August 27 2011. They dont tell you that you have to pay for anything but they suggest you to donate and If you dont it makes you feel like you did not get that "blessing." Also, Construction Committee is the one that fixes everything at the church and they might get funds for it but not all the expenses. Constantly they have to donate from ther pockets. Plus there are different kinds of envelopes for "mature chindren" for different kind of donations such as: the construction of new "Zions." The One I was had minor damages, nothing crazy but you know even a little thing to fix in te ceilling costs a lot.

angelikkeprParticipantI dont doubt anything that jellybean says… In PR the deaconess took a group of the female members and started talking about how much the church wanted to grow and that they were searching for a bigger place but the cost was to high… Then she was explaining that they needed $400,000 to get it, after that she threw the comment… "Of course, if you want to help, everyone of you can make a $10,000 loan to donate it to the church"… Another day, they were planning to make a bazaar, the deacon told the members "remember the bazaar that we are having, you can bring everything that you have at your house that you don't use and everything that you don't need… If you have idolatry stuff, you cam bring it also so we can sell it"… Poor members!!! So, I don't doubt for a second that if the church suffers some.damages, they will just go ahead and ask the members to cover the fixing costs.

That is so weird! Probably that one was to test them to see if they still have "idols" at home and they use that to see who has more "faith" because after the lesson of "Idolatry" you are suppose to have no idols at home. Because from what I know they are not suppose to give those items to anyone but destroy them. Because then it will be "sharing or giving your idol" in this case selling it…

Did you know about the NY trip that they made a few months ago??? They were told that nobody could vist Korea no more but instead they could visit NY!!! Of course the cost was cheaper and some of them went…
Everything about them is weird!!! I think they are just trying to get money no matter what…

KCParticipantthey say the same thing here in asia angellikepr! its the same line "we need bigger chruch but cant afford it" then they push the members to give up and sell their "wordly" possesion (if they dont have enough money) and most of the time will say that along with that verse about a rich people and poor people, the rich burn in hell while the poor sit with god.
i think mama god should put an example first for her follower and sell out that big nice elohim complex in korea and give everything to the poor

Ohh wow! that I cannot believe because the trip for Korea should be like the most important thing for them "to go and see Mother" or to go and see "God Almighty in the flesh" and many want to got to NY only to hear the experience of the members that went. Others go to get training in preaching. Now they are selling the trip to New York because is cheaper… interesting. And in PR everything started because a person from over there got babtized and went back and was allowed to keep services on his car away from the persecution of his family. But you know I have decided to respect their belief what can we do? Is sad because the members of PR are so Young and have so much future and potential. That was something that made me back off a little bit at the begining to have to preach people that I know are going to be away from their families and loose their loved one.

I heard that before… "We need bigger Zion to glorify Father and Mother"

SimonParticipantThey never mnetioned money only bodies for getting a building in the zion I attended
October 26, 2012 at 4:35 PM #48156
jellybeanParticipantAlso they wont ask everyone about it only to the people they knew that were a longer time or that they knew were making money or owned a bussiness• It doesnt work the same in every church because the house churches that come out from a big one are responsabiliry of the big one

Yes, since they started here, they've been causing damages in the families… They are changing methods because they know that they are wrong, that is why they live hiding and reunite in secret… The members always say that… I am a victim of persecution… Oh my God! Everything is just part of their organized speech!

SimonParticipantTheoretically all house churches come out of a big one
October 27, 2012 at 2:09 PM #48159
SimonParticipantand I was the second oldest member in the Church who was a regular attendee any more and I never missed a tithe *grimmaces* so I don't know why I was never asked for a blessing lol

For how long were you a member?
October 30, 2012 at 2:29 PM #48161
SimonParticipantNot very but everyone else in that one was baptized over a year later cuz everyone kept “falling away”
October 30, 2012 at 2:30 PM #48162
SimonParticipantIn total just over two years
October 30, 2012 at 11:20 PM #48163
jellybeanParticipantThey Actually wont ask you directly for donations in order to get blessings is up to how many subjects were you able to teach and on top of that how many fruit you have and how many people have get a baptism after you teach them the "forgiveness of sins"or other subjects… They consider you a "mature child" when you can teach certain amount of bible studies I think up to the lesson called "mother." In other words when you can take care of other brothers and sisters. There are many aspects they take in consideration in order to tell you "do you want to get a blessing?" …."we are organizing this and we are needing this right now for the event to glorify father and mother"" if you cant is fine but if you want you can get the blessing"…In bigger "Zions" with 800 members and many house churches already open usually have many new members because the mature ones are transfered to the smaller "Zions." Therefore, they seem in the need to start pushing the 2 year old members more to teach and to preach more because those old members are not part of them anymore but of the house church "numbers."
