I was watching a show last night on PBS about the Amish. After my dealings with WMSCOG, I now am able to reconize a cult when I see one. I always thought of the Amish as Godly people with outdated ways of living. I now see that their behavior is that of a cult.

Following the Amish program, a show about the Seventh Day Adventist came on. While this show was much more favorable for this sect, they did go into the teachings of Ellen G White and the unfulfilled prophecies. After the "Great Disappointment" failed to produce the return of Christ, people still believed and remained in the church because a new story was spun to explain what happened. (Basically Jesus wanted to give more time for the SDA members to preach).

The forum is similar to this one – they discuss messed up doctrine, but the behavior of the group is the same as WMSCOG.
