In an interview I watched where Leah Rimini was talking about Scientology and the alleged $3 billion dollars they had amassed, I couldn't help but think, "Bet that World Mission Society has much more than that." I have no way of knowing, but I would guess they have much much more than Scientology. I know they have amassed a fortune in properties, not just here in the states, but all over the world. Even if they disband, who is going to retain ownership of these properties? The leaders, I am sure. Who else? I know they pay millions readily for pretty small properties, such as one they purchased this past year in Arizona. But they have paid multi millions for larger properties in cities where property is really expensive and a lucrative investment. If you do the math on how much they could be assumed to be bleeding from members for a month, even if you lowball it tremendously, you come up with hundreds of millions of dollars every single month. I know of several members who gave at least a thousand a month for long periods of time. Some pulled out retirement funds and gave up to $25,000 in one year. The Wms doesn't have so many stars like Tom Cruise or Kirstie Alley, but I think they are working on it. They get plenty from members without the star power, though. Believe it. They say they have 2 million members plus. Even if they got $400 from each one per month, well, that's $800,000,000 per month. Yes, not per year. Per month. Anyway, the actual amount is not known because they keep it all under wraps. But I guarantee you, they are all about the money. And they have little to nothing in overhead expenses because they get the members to pitch in for every single thing that would be an expense. And that is on top of the tithe. Pretty good business, and they never have to prove they delivered the product…….Salvation.
This is all my opinion, of course, based on what I know after talking to hundreds of people.
