I went to the store to buy a gallon of milk and while I was waiting to pay I saw this on the FRONT PAGE of the largest newspaper in the state of New Jersey

@ untouchableJ I do remember that! I believe it was the prince of Tonga. lol and he actually has no governing power in the country, sorta like the royal family of England. They were touting that prophecy when a senator in washington was preached to. I remember a UCC space video where te mayor of Denver, or Phoenix, or Atlanta or some where I can't specifically remember, was awarding them a some kind of civil merit plaque; and while the overseer was saying the usual clicheic " Thanks to our heavenly mother jerusalem and out father ahnsahnghong" the look on the mayor's face was "what in the blue hell are they talking about??????"
AHHHHH! HAAAAAA! That made me laugh out loud!!
There is a video with 2 WMS guys on a memphis news program talking about trash clean up. The one guy starts babbbling on about New Jerusalem and then God the Mother. The news people starting getting wise that this was not a regular church and at the end when the member asked if they could do their cheer, the news people said they were out of time! LOL! They are so indoctrinated and trying so hard to make mother proud that they end up looking like ummm – cult members.
LOL, yeah, I never read in the book of acts that the apostles of the early church carried out an aggressive PR campaign to ingratiate themselfes with politicians.
But what you said about the news crew realizing that this organisation is a cult makes me remember their corny little cartoon video on youtube where the apparent gospel worker said " every one like us, and appreciate the work we do"

UntouchableJParticipantJames 2:15-16 Speaks expressly about giving and helping the poor. WMS will try and say it means “Poor in spirit”, but there are clear understandings biblically about the two. WMS doesnt help the poor. Many times, many Ex-members were told to avoid, and not preach to poor people.

You're right, they do NOTHING to actually combat poverty. But hey! when it comes to picking up gabage and chanting "WE LOVE U!"for cameras, their all over it.

UntouchableJParticipant@Brian Such an obvious PR frenzy. Lets pick up trash, and invite the local News to film it.

Don't forget your green vests and yellow t-shirts!

UntouchableJParticipantAh..the wonderful Yellow shirts and the tacky WeLuv U tshirts that members must pay for to attend the function. “Brother and sister must make every effort to come”…but ya gotta have that shirt, lol

@mayor Well, they act like a Masonic temple, or a high end country club. There is a sign , nothing about it says, "Welcome, come on in." No sign that says, "Bible Study; Cone learn the hidden truths of the Bible". I know in the Zion I left, there were securitt cameras, that were monitored to make sure a nonmember didnt walk in. That happened several times, strangers and the needy walked in; thinking it may be a church that has a soup kitchen. Let me tell you, the walk ins were never greated warmly. WMS churches give me the feeling of that spooky house on your street, as a kid. Lol
That is a really good description of that place! I drove down to visit a friend in Ridgewood last week. We were walking around the town and bunped into one of the local policemen. I asked him if he knew anything about the wms and he said the department was very aware of them and had been called there on multiple occasions. He did not elaborate on the reasons other than to say, they were mostly disturbance calls. He told us, they were of public record and anybody can check them out. I wonder if anybody here, who is from that area, would mind stopping by headquarters to see whats on file? He said they keep a close eye on that place but I'm really not sure what he meant by that. We didn't speak with him for that long but he also mentioned that the other churches in town have or are going to meet and were supposedly planning to make a statement of some kind. I was surprised to hear that, as most "other" churches usually turn away from stuff like this.
I was talking to some LEO buddies and since the North jersey article came out, they had no idea about the church or ex member stories. In the past the churches in NY/NJ area have stayed under the radar Some of the newer churches that they take over are still listed with towns as the previous church name.
Let's say they buy a new church and it was a Baptist church. For law enforcement, until the town or church updates the information, they will still remember them as the previous church. We all know how hard it is to find current info on the new ones popping up like address/current phone numbers.
They like to boast about how many members are LEO, but that's BS , they aren't. The FBI director lady that they put in their Elohim magazine was actually contacted by the media and she had no idea. LEO, political figures and the like are not always informed that their names are being used in publications both video and in writing. They are not going to risk having their career at stake for being affiliated with a group the media calls a "cult".
I have heard also they were trying to become active with local police departments, but most know what they are about now. There's an active shooter anti terror program that some Catholic and Protestant churches are joining in with local police. I've heard through the grapevine WMS was trying to get involved also. Good try WMS ,haha

UntouchableJParticipant@SetUFree I have heard that as well. Whats amazing is what the active shoot protocol requires for certification. I don’t see WMS members securing high risk areas, securing a weapon or restraining a shooter, lol. When they had the Disaster Response Certification in New Windsor, it wasn’t legit. They had a local fire chief speak for about an hour, and they spoke for the remaining 8 hours about the bible.Members were told that they would be nationally certified and could show up to disasters and help. Another ploy to keep members indoctrinated
