Matthew 24:4-5. And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.

SimonParticipantap·pa·ri·tion /apəˈriSHən/ Noun 1. A ghost or ghostlike image of a person. 2. The appearance of something remarkable or unexpected, typically an image of this type.
Definition 1 is the one pertaining to whether he’s in flesh or not

emilParticipantThe interpretation of Gen 18 is not so straight forward as to conclude that God was one of the 3 men. Verse 13, 17 and 22 are not clear whether the Lord is one of the 3 men. In fact, there is a marked distinction between the terms "men" and "the Lord" in the entire chapter 18.
The only point that indicates it could be God plus 2 men is when chapter 19 cuts to the scene when they reach Sodom.

SimonParticipantThink it’s pretty clear alone but even if it weren’t 19 cant be ignored

emilParticipantI don't think it is clear. It is clear only if you come in with a preconceived notion that it is. See how they are addressed in the text. "Men" and "the Lord"

Sarah2013ParticipantSo now I’m confused. Are you saying The Lord is a 4th?

Don't get me wrong. I'm not claiming anything. All I'm saying is, if you start reading Gen 18 assuming there are 3 men, of which 2 are angels and one is God, you can make it fit. Yet, if you start assuming there are 3 angels plus God, and then read, that can fit too. This second view is mainly supported by the difference in addressing the "men" and "the Lord" in the text.
