One thing that I do agree with the WMSCOG about is that we are not supposed to worship man made symbols. This may excite them to see that I agree with them however all Christians that I know would and do agree with this. Sorry WMSCOG but being right about one thing does not make you good or righteous.
The Cross is a symbol that was made by man and should never be worshipped however to remove it totally is to in fact remove a symbol of God. This should NEVER happen. Man would view the Cross as an implementation tool of death that was used to kill Jesus. Jesus was killed by man in this manner because he was fulfilling prophesy. If the prophesy said that he would be killed by being shot to death we would probably have guns on top of our churches and as jewelry around our necks. As it is the Cross was made a symbol of the power, wisdom, glory, love, and salvation of God and by God. God sanctified the Cross and who would dare to question God? In Acts 10:10-15 Peter was praying he fell into a trance. He envisioned a sight that looked like a great sheet being lowered to the earth and on it were all sorts of animals that at the current time were viewed as common or unclean. A voice came to him saying kill and eat. His response was no Lord; I have never eaten anything common or unclean. The voice spoke a second time saying,” What God has sanctified do not call common.” When God sanctifies something even something viewed as common, unclean, unwanted, unusable, despicable, or a tool of death we are not to question Him.
Romans 14:14 "There is nothing is unclean in itself; but for the man in who's oppinion it is unclean, for him it is unclean."
The Bible says, "There is nothing is unclean in itself." Where have people gotten the idea that the Cross or a symbol is unclean? Because the WMSCOG said it was! Who do you believe? I'm going with Gods Word on this one!
What is Gods stance on symbols anyway? Let’s look at that.
God ordered many things to be made and placed many symbols around us to remind us of Him and His Glory. In the Old Testament God ordered many “Holy Items” to be made to remind people of Him. Exodus 28:37 Make a plate of the best gold with the words stamped on it, “Holy To The Lord.” Exodus 28:30 says, “And in the bag you are to put the Urim and Thummim, so that they may be on Aaron’s heart wherever he goes in before the Lord.” How about one of the most famous symbols in history? Exodus 25:8 And let them make Me a sanctuary, the Ark. The Israelites also were to place a symbol of the Law on their heads and hands as a sign of the Lord. I believe that this is a shadow of what we do today by wearing a Cross as a sign of who we belong to. It’s a matter of great respect and honor. To remove this symbol would in fact be very disrespectful and highly dishonoring. I will not be any part of that. In everything I do I want to be honoring to God even if it dishonors someone else’s beliefs on the matter. My God know my heart and I look forward to being told, “Well done my faithful servant.”
Need more truth about God and symbols? After a rain storm when the sun comes out you might see one of his greatest symbols ever. I would like to see the WMSCOG try to remove all of the rainbows from our sight!

My family is stuck on, "Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven." They don't want me to go to any other church unless it's about Jesus. You can talk to people about their religion but don't go looking for it. For a lot of people I knew growing up from school, work, etc. they freak out when their friends or family start exploring other religions. My officer was telling me how his son is "backsliding" by going to a Christian church rather than a Catholic church. The COG isn't the only church that practices "information control". It seems to be that the people I was raised around all belong to a cult as well. However, these are the same people, who don't want me researching other stuff, that are pointing out, "The COG doesn't want you researching stuff. Information control!" How do I feel? I feel like there are some people in Zion who are way more humble than I am. Because I have been researching since I 1st studied. & the people who speak against the COG are hardly gracious, kind, patient, or show any characteristic of the fruits of the Spirit. They are rude, yelling and cursing me to hell. They are loud & shut doors in our faces. I'm pretty sure it has happened the other way around but surely, surely not as often as it has happened to me. For someone to say that their religious practices are right & mine are wrong but act like a child of satan is obsurd. So, I don't care if anyone feels like it's information control. Who controls my actions? Me. You can tell me what to do or read but it's still my decision whether to do so. But I'll listen to a kind person before I listen to a rude person.

prtyeyesParticipantRenita can I ask you a question? If you have been researching things for yourself since the beginning, are you stating you haven’t come across many inconsistencies w/ your churches doctrines? And you’ve never come across biblical and historical text that completely prove your church wrong? Is this why you’re compelled to stay and worship an idol as opposed to God.

I'm 22 & what I found very interesting is while I was in SD, many pastors, deacons, etc. stopped me to talk about the bible. It seemed like every week, I had a story to share about how some random pastor decides to talk to me about church. Anyway, you would think that the pastor would know the most about the bible being that he is the teacher. I remember one pastor who came up to me about a donation but somehow we got on the topic of PO. Once I said PO, he started rambling on about everything he could of abour the PO. I let him talk for about 5 minutes until he paused. Everything he said was concerning the OT PO. Ok, let's talk about it pastor. I asked him, "Is there a date for this OT PO?" He said, "Yes." I asked, "What is it?" He said something about the 9th month. I said, "That's not true. Lev 23 says clearly the date of the PO. There isn't even a Feast in the 9th month." He stuttered over his words trying to play like he was talking about a dfferent feast. So, I asked him to open his bible & read it. He refused. At that point, I walked away.
I can understand if you don't know something. I don't expect a pastor to know everything about the bible. But this guy thought he was teaching me about the OT PO. He knew he didn't know the date. But I bet he thought I wouldn't challenge his answer. When I did, he started to stutter & lose his train of thought. Just from the psychology class I took in HS I could see that he was nervous & probably upset with me for not only challenging him but telling him he was wrong.
What's my point?
A) I preach to pastors, deacons, missionaries, etc. all the time & I am a "kid" in their eyes. These people I shared the Scripture with are 30, 40, sometimes older than that. They've been in the church all their lives. I know I'm not the only one who preaches to these people.
B) Apparently, they don't have much of an understanding of the Scripture. When I talk to pastors, I like to talk about the OT PO because there's no interpretation there. I mainly let them talk then expose their lack of knowledge by asking the date of the PO. Some say there is no date or it's not specified or they make up their own date. Hello! It's clearly written in the bible. You can tell when someone realizes they're wrong because they'll let you show them Scripture but after that one very plain verse is shown, they close the bible. Why close it pastor? Show me the light..

Another thing I would like to add…. I love it when someone tells me to take your own interpretation of the bible. Then I show them 2 Pe 1:20-21. That makes them upset. That verse usually ends every conversation I've about the bible.

One of the many things that upset me about people who don't believe what is taught in the COG is their urge to repeatedly say I'm wrong. & when you asked if you could ask me a question, you didn't wait for a response. Not only that, you asked more than 1 question. I have seen inconsistencies* in the COG. But I have told every person who has ever tried to save me out of Zion something along the lines of: When you can somewhat prove your doctrine, that's when you can judge what I believe in.
There's no point in going to a church that can't show through Scripture why they believe in Jesus, the Trinity, etc. Apostolics don't even know what apostolic means. People are baptized but don't really know why. They're just doing it because someone told them to. At least I'm not doing something because someone told me to. At least I can defend what I believe in. I, Renita, can defend what I, Renita, believe in. It may differ from shimon which I am more than positive it does. But neither you nor anyone else has any place to tell me I'm wrong if you or anyone else can't prove you (plural) are right. Like I said in another post, stop telling me what I'm doing is leading me to hell. I heard you the 1st 100 times. When will you share how to get to Heaven? Never?

prtyeyesParticipantMy fault for asking questions when I said let me ask you a question. It was more of a rhetorical statement. So don’t try and come at me the way you did. If you firmly believe in what you believe and that your way is right, why come to this forum to argue with people you feel are trying to tell you, you’re wrong! I never stated you were wrong. I do feel that you are completely misguided but you have the right to worship anyway you choose. I’m just trying to get an understanding of why when presented w/falsehood from your church you and other members choose to ignore it. I’m sure in many other post it was shown how to get to heaven but you must have CHOSE to ignore it! I’m not here to argue, just trying to learn and figure out how to get my friend to see the truth. The truth (Jesus) stands alone regardless of whether a heretic thinks they get the last word or not! The truth STILL stands! If I spent all my time defending what I believe, I wouldn’t have time to do anything else!

Love'n HoneyParticipantYou said I was wrong when you asked why I chose to worship false gods. It is commonly known that one root statement stems many other statements. You worship false gods. Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Mother doesn't exist. All of which basically say my beliefs are wrong. Since you haven't noticed, I will explain to you plainly. I have seen some things in the COG that are questionable. I have seen more questionable things in other churches. If I believed 100% in what the COG teaches, why would I argue against shimon? Why would I say my beliefs are different from shimon's? We belong to the same church. Pay attention. I'm still seeking & so far it seems to me that the COG is best at teaching & showing how to be a child of God. These rude & nasty "christians" that believe Jesus is the way don't act like they believe in Jesus. For some, I didn't know they believed God existed after knowing them for years because they act like satan's offspring. All this about knowing what color & style of panties a member in the COG is wearing is ridiculous. Why? Because I see more panties & boxers on the ones who point the finger at me calling me a heretic. Read my posts. I ask questions but defend what I believe is true.
My point is, you don't tell me I'm worshiping false Gods. You don't pass judgement on me. All these silly christians get tatoos saying "Only God can judge me" or they post statuses on FB, "Only God can judge me". I hear it in their conversations, read it in their text messages, etc. But they're the main ones who pass judgement. That's what irks me. Is Ahnsahnghong God? Idk.. But I know I believe the Sabbath is Saturday, PO is once a year, women should cover their heads during worship, we are from Heaven, etc.

prtyeyesParticipant1st off I don’t appreciate your tone that I sense from your post. 2nd I do pay attention and like I said before I’m not here to argue with you. I myself am just trying to understand certain logic, so you don’t need to explain anything “PLAINLY”! You seem very bitter and if the COG is doing its best at showing you “truth” more power to you. But worshiping a woman/ man in Korea who you were convinced to believe by a “man” is some type of “god” goes against the 1st commandment and is foolish in my opinion because of what I’ve learned in the bible. Again you seem very bitter and I choose not to argue with you, one thing I’ve noticed about many COG members is that something could be the color red plain as day but you will argue that’s it black through and through because of something you were told by a man who convinced you it was black. That doesn’t make it true!

JoshuaParticipantRenita, I wish to share a couple of verses with you. Please give me your honest oppinion and how it fits in with the idea that a god the mother was involved somehow. Genesis 2:7 And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. Genesis 2:18 And the Lord God said, "It is not good that a man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." (God made all of animal but for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.) Genesis 2:21-22 And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
Is this one of the things that gives you doubt in the doctrine/teachings of the WMS? As for myself it truly does. Please share with me your thoughts and feelings. Thank you.
