a friend who is also determined to make people in asia more aware about the wmscog just confirmed that the wmscog is now laying off members that they feel can contradicts their teachings specially nearing this end of the year, some of those members is just suddenly alienated without any explanation and some is told directly by their deacon or deaconess that they are not welcomed anymore because mama god thinks they are not faithful enough

i think this is a preparation for the sure will fail doomsday prediction

Yes Hal, I think that’s what KC meant.

Here in PR if the member gives the church a hard time (or like in some cases the member’s family), the deacons just tell the other members not to call or communicate with that member again, some members feel so guilty for what they havent done that they start suffering a lot and of course, they get very confused with the other members actions… So I believe that what KC explained is true even when the word removed is the one that explain better the situation. The word abandoned can be used too… Lol.

It is possible that they stay with the strongest. On the other hand the weaker that have been weak for a long time actually makes them waste time and slow down what they call "the gospel work", therefore they get rid of them.

yes some got "softly" pushed out because they dont have time to recruit enough numbers and some just because they refused to pay more and some because the wmscog proly thinks they asked too much questions

The way I left was a little different because it was voluntary. However, they still gave me my tithe envelope to send them the tithes by mail. I told them that when I decide to return then I will bring the tithes with me… I dont know if they request the same to the people that they kick out and believe in the two gods. That was when I came to realize about the money. They insist that "God does not need your money to complete the plan for our salvation" however they still ask for it with no measure.

Jellybean… It is curious that you had that option and you didnt suffer any harassment after you left… Was this recently?

Wow!!!  They have some nerve to send you the tithe envelope.  It's like "you can't be saved if you don't attend the sabbath but here's your tithe envelope and be sure to send us your 10% every week even though you're going to hell anyway".  That's disgusting.

I couldn't believe it when my girl told me they called her about her tithes. Then she forked over a chunk of her tax return, a fairly large one. Makes me so sad.

I personally know the story of a mother that goes to the WMSCOG… Most of the time she brings her little girl with her to the “church”. The girl is only 2 years but the mother gives thites and offerings in the name of both! They are receiving double income for that one…!

Of course that is another side of the story that many people do not speak about. I have been there and seen that. Is more obious when the Passover that they celebrate comes you will see the mothers with two envelopes usually and that is how you can tell that "sister" has a child. They not only receive for that one… they receive for everyone with kids. The way they calculate the child's tithe is a ten percent of what it cost your child to you every week and if someone gives money to your child as a gift you are also obligated to give a ten percent. Is like if your child has a job and you give them a payroll or something.  Also the tithe is the ten percent before taxes…

If I were any of these people I would be like oh yeah, freedom, Saturdays where I can sleep in and my money for me to do with as I will.  Then I would break out of there never to return.  I'd take the family on a Saturday New Zealand mountain climb and picnic.  And with gingle bells I'd LOL all the way.  /: > )  Join us ??????

Well is going to be a year soon that I left. I know what you mean. Of course I got text messages like crazy and phonecalls before the passover but once you stop texting back they leave you alone or consider that you probably changed your number. Usually the person that takes care of you gets kind of blamed because you left so they feel pushed to call you and stuff. I know because I have been there when they call and text like crazy so they could not convice me.

If you ask a pastor or missionary or even retake the "tithes and offerings" they always tell you that is a tenth of EVERYTHING that is why many members sell their houses or properties because that counts as part of EVERYTHING is not only because "you should be humble and not accumulate riches on earth or because "father is comming soon"" 😉

I was taught purely income. I was praised when I put in a matter of cents (between jobs of course) inconsistency is so apparent in the "truth"

As you say you took the tithes and offerings subject. I got my notes from that class and what they exactly tell you is that because Abraham gave a tenth of everything thats what we are suppose to do. So in my notes from a Missionary that has been in there for around 10 years when he was asked about taxes he said the verse in the new testament that speaks about Jesus Christ telling the people "to give to Ceasar what is to Ceasar and to God what belongs to God" then he explained that since God is in the first place in your life and Government in second you should take the 10% before taxes because thats what you really made. However if you dont do it like that and do it after taxes then when you receive your income tax you should pay the difference because you are stealling from God if you dont do so.
