Japan Crisis, and past WMS disaster claims

Today, Japan suffered a major Earthquake, and one of its Volcano’s erupted. Two points of thought come to mind. First, for ANY disaster, WMS will claim that “Father is so close”. I remember the Tsunami that struck Japan some years ago. We had it shoved down our throats that “Fodder is here…he sooo close bredder en sister!”

Secondy, WMS refocuses the brainwashing module with disasters. Earthquakes (especially in Japan) have been happening forever. Other biblical anomolies such as birds and fish dying, diseases. Religious figures have been using nature to justify their doctrine or vision.

My overseer tried that before to create urgency, motivate members to go out preaching. Then he added that to the 2012 prophecy. Luckily 2012 was a calm year, more or less and nothing happened.  I wonder what the prophets of the wmscog are saying about that disaster.

I always found the prophecies of the end of the world to be really emotionally draining. The fear of myself and billions of others around the world dying in a huge disaster is a doctrine taught by the WMS that has kept me anxious and clinging to this cult for years. I now understand that this fear of losing everything by leaving a cult is a classic mind control technique. No question that joining WMS will make you afraid and suspicious of all non WMS members, people you don't even know and even people who love you. As you know the WMS teach that the way to escape disasters is the 'passover'. I now see the 'passover' as just a bread and wine ritual that means something to christians but not nearly anything like what WMS would have you believe. According to them it is the key to escaping any disasters. They say that these disasters are now happening more frequently and that they are signs from God to flee to WMS. I was so brainwashed about the 'passover' by WMS that I even feared this bread and wine ritual was in fact the catalyst for mankind's end. They convinced me that I was saved because I had "kept the passover" but all my friends and family and everyone else around the world who didn't keep it were going to die horribly. The WMS told me that I was going to be saved. I had "kept the Passover". However, I was guilty because the WMS told me that time was running out for everyone else. There was great urgency in my heart, because having tried, I just couldn't convert people to the 'passover'. So my dependancy on WMS grew stronger through my fear of God's anger towards me. I had tried to serve 'father and mother' but apparently not hard enough. The WMS told me I must “bear good fruit” for them and ‘father and mother' had given me every chance to convert people by their making great sacrifices. They taught that all I had to do was proclaim Ahnsahnhong's message and if it didn’t work to look elsewhere to lay the blame, usually inwards. They said the whole world was in great debt to AhnSahngHong and Zahng Gil-Jah and that they were Gods. We all worshiped AhnSahngHong and Zahng Gil-Jah, 'father and mother', for brining us to this way out of disaster, the 'passover'. Every time a natural disaster struck somewhere around the world it was proof that the end was drawing near and every time somebody got hurt they “should have kept the passover!”. A huge disaster here on the Earth was about to happen any day and these smaller disasters were all 'signs' that the eternal damnation was waiting for everyone who "rejected the passover". There were also rumours that 'father' had told 'mother' in prayer that he wanted to bring about the end ASAP but the love of 'mother' for her 'children' was holding him back. I went out and preached to the world about the 'passover' but I failed to convert anyone other than my own parents (my parents no longer attend WMS). I was failing to "bear good fruit" and I was regarded poorly by WMS because of it. The world was going to end and it could happen on any day but it was all my fault that people were going to hell because Ahnsahnghong and Zahng Gil-Jah had already provided me with the teachings and all their "undying love". According to WMS, all I had to do was proclaim the church message. I held on to that belief and stayed devoted to my new religion for 3 years. So I kept coming back and preaching at the WMS. I was waiting for the world to end and I was fearful of my own 'godless' country here in Australia which the WMS members said was not as loving as Korea. This is really a beautiful country to live in, full of decent hard working people who DO fear God but they are nothing like what the WMS expects. At WMS God is to be feared because He is angry with everyone for not holding on to Ahnsahnghong's and Zahng Gil-Jah's religious ceremonies and brain washing. I now realise that disasters are always going to happen. The occurrence of them is just a fact of life. The 'passover' is not a way to escape anything. It is actually a snare and a trap to make vulnerable people afraid and isolated from their community and even divided against their own families.

@Hyde Exactly! When the tsunami happened in Japan years back, and then the Earthquake that struck South America, I remember being told that “Mother said those are Fathers footsteps, he is here”. I bought in as well. I like you also was never successful at bringing in fruit. When a disaster happens, it becomes “Father is here”. It had so many people scared

As an ex-member who lived through the 2012 teaching, I want everyone to know that I think it was just a mirage.

So next time a church tells you something similar, disasters! Unheard of disasters! Just think of it as a scary mirage.

It will eventually disappear and everything will be back to normal.

@Mayor Remember that from the church videos, lol

    “Disaster! Unheard of Disasters!”

Man, what a throwback moment, and the symphonic music playing in the background. They had me scared, every Saturday, especially before 2012. When 2012 passed, so did the frequency of the videos. When the, “Jubilee prophecy” arose, so did the videos. When Nepal was hit with the Megaquake, they milked it. “Onh..bredder…you know Nepal is a pagan capital, soooo many pagan temples, but only our Zion stood tall”. Soon after, the first member I knew personally, died of natural causes, then, the baptised mother of a female member. No notification, no announcement. It made me question, did the Churches abroad really come out unscathed? I doubt it.

Good question. Did they really all come out unscathed?

Scared? Ha! It's wasn't your typical saturday morning cartoons were they? What scared me was a couple months before I left they tried to give me a current member Korean wife. I didn't even know her name. She was good looking no doubt but prearranged with no say in the matter? And the commitment thereafter? Being sheltered in church building all day, not seeing daylight, my feet got cold… fast.

@Mayor They claimed that the Nepal church was not harmed, and that all the Buddhist and Hindu temples were brought down by the Quake. The only people who forgot the 2012 prophecy was Zhang and the leadership, lol

I saw the video. They used their security cameras and showed the current members standing outside before the quake hit. It looked like most people were outside. It looked scary, people moving back and forth suddenly.

One thing I know, they down play what they cant hide. If the building did have some form PDF damage, they would have said it was only a scratch.

Then their services will be lit with talk of Ahns return, especially since Japan just had a quake as well.

When this happens, it's encouraging for the believer, but in the big picture it is no proof that they have the 'true religion.'

The same happens to other religious buildings in other disasters.

Take for example, the mosque in Indonesia after the 2004 tsunami: http://www.thenational.ae/world/southeast-asia/how-indonesian-mosques-survived-the-tsunami

Or the Iglesia Ni Christo (also on cult lists) after Typhoon Haiyan: http://www.newsgra.ph/1053/pic-inc-church-unharmed-yolanda-controvery-sparks-debate/

I think any wmscog member would say that just because these buildings were left standing doesn't mean either Islam or Iglesia Ni Christo are the 'true church.'

On a side note, while I was getting the Iglesia Ni Christo reference, I came across an article they wrote up for their website about raising awareness for storm victims.  From the tone of the article, it sounded just like something the wmscog would write, just change "Church of Christ" to "Church of God": http://incmedia.org/worldwide-walk-recap/
