Does anyone recall the wms's interpretation of Isaiah 1:15. Who does the WMS say this verse refers to?
When you spread out your hands in prayer,
I hide my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers,
I am not listening.
Your hands are full of blood!

KFParticipant@ SARAH, me too! it's just hard to tell when your reading, but I really want to know what's his Smurf name. Is he Grumpy, Happy, Hefty, Papa Smurf, which one?

What do you think Sarah?
You know I can't say that it's true, but I have heared that Jewish women shave their heads and where wigs. Can a true Jewish verify this? Simon or Hal
Also we can all see that middle east women cover their heads, so I don't know why, some even cover head to toe so that other men will not look at them , if they are uncovered, they will get a beat down, another thing I heared but not sure off. some say they so ugly they need the covering (J.K)
never taught I needed to know these things, but now I'm curious as to why they do it. Gotta go research now Lol!
Never heard of such a practice myself certainly isn't scriptural but there could be sects that do it, judaism has a lot of weird cultic sects.

Hmmm. you know what Sarah, I'm not quite sure on this one………. You got me
Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head—it is the same as having her head shaved. For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head
Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice—nor do the churches of God.
If hair is the covering in the first paragraph it really doesn't make sense to say if she doesn't want to cover her head she may as well cut her hair off because in order to not cover her head she'd need to cut her hair off anyways…

Sarah2013ParticipantDon’t know about that, Simon.

Love'n HoneyParticipantIf I don't want to cover my head then I should cut my hair off. This is implying that I have to cut in the 1st place. If my hair was already a cover, then I don't need to cover my head with anything else. But Paul says if I don't cover my head which is covered in hair then I should cut it off. From those verses alone, a woman's hair is not a suitable cover. But Paul says that long hair is a cover. How long is long hair? I have relatively short hair so am I to cover my head during worship? What about women who have hair past their shoulders; is that long enough to be a suitable cover? If I wear a wig, aren't I technically covering my head? These are serious questions. What is a suitable cover? Because Paul says long hair is a cover but if a lady was to have her hair cut off or shaven [shaven is obviously much shorter than having it cut off] then she is disgraced.

EmilyParticipantThe reason I asked this question is because I distinctly remember being taught that the verse is a prophecy about the Catholic Church. The pastor specifically asked, "Who do you see praying with their hands open?". He then raised his arms up, palms facing the crowd and said that the Pope does that. When I was looking through Ahn's pictures the other day I came across these:

I was shocked. Just when I thought I had seen all of the contradictions…

Sarah2013ParticipantHe is god so it doesn’t matter. This god is allowed contradictions, Emily.
March 24, 2013 at 4:43 AM #57007
EmilyParticipantIt just seems to me like the wmscog has very little if nothing to do with Ahn and what he originally taught. They are more like a splinter group of Ahn's original church. The contradictions are between Ahn and the wmscog LOL.
1. Ahn says there is no mother god.
vs.
The wms says that he wasn't talking about zhang so she is the mother god.
2. Ahn says the new jersalem is a place.
vs.
The wms says the new jerusalem is a korean woman named zhang.
3. Ahn claimed he was Elijah (or at least his tombstone does).
vs.
The wms says Ahn was Jesus.
4. Ahn says that there is no other name but Jesus even in the last days.
vs.
The wms says that Ahn is the new name and if you don't believe in him and pray in his name you're going to hell.
I wonder what Ahn would say about the wms believing that he was the second coming of Jesus and worshiping zhang. He's probably rolling around in his grave. Oh yeah, his body is still in the grave. No resurrection!
March 24, 2013 at 4:47 AM #57008
Sarah2013ParticipantOf course he didn’t Resurrect. Even Enoch was taken up to heaven without seeing death, yet, this God’s body still awaits resurrection. Wow.

SimonParticipantNever heard that prophecy emily
As for elijah did you never study mission of elijah?

I don't remember being told it was wrong to pray that way. But I do remember being told that the Catholic church and the Jews violate the rules of the cover.
March 24, 2013 at 1:27 PM #57011
KFParticipantI can see from this picture,
that he wore a robe, kinda similar to what priest wear these days, I thought they said he wore suits?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ahn_Sahnghong,_service_at_the_NCPCOG.jpg
Is this the same way the Pastor and deacons dress today at the church or do they wear suits?
Should they not follow his example?
March 24, 2013 at 2:15 PM #21311
SimonParticipanthe did and the pastors do dress different for the feasts
