Is the Sabbath and Passover a shadow?

I've been reading 2 Corinthians 3 and what it states very clearly is that what was written on stones was a ministry of death. The Bible clearly states that no man can keep the commandments and that the Law condemns but the spirit gives life. Paul wrote that Sabbath worship was onlt an Old Testament "shadow" of the real substance that was brought forth in Christ. (Colossians 2) Romans 3:20 asserts, "No one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the Law." Think very hard about this and do your own research. Discover the real truth and don't let anyone tell you what you should think and believe.

There is a difference between it wont make you righteous and you shouldn’t do it. Like to me I think we should but I se sunday keepers as saved as I see myself because it doesn’t save or make righteous. Id rather never keep sabbath again than worship ahnsahnghong jesus saves me no matter my sin ahnsahnhhonh doesn’t do a thing no matter my righteousness

I have a family member that is a Deacon and he doesnt eat food that someone prayed over in Jesus name. He said something about the new name is now Ahn (new name on white stone??)but why would that be ok to deny Jesus's name?? And whats with the crosses. My husband also believes in this now and has taken down all the crosses I put up in the house….I dont get this at all and find it very anti-Christ….

I am with Simon on this one, especially with respect to not worshipping Ahang. As far as the cross issue. I personally don’t really have one. This doesn’t mean I believe something is wrong with it. I hold nothing against it if it helps one feel connected. I just won’t kneel before it. That’s just me.

The history of the cross and the crucifix is a long one. Constantine, Roman emperor of the early 300s, dreamt of a cross and was told ” in this sign you will conquer.” He ordered the sign of the cross to be put on all the soldiers’ shield, and then won the battle by which he became emperor of Rome. Although he wasn’t Christian, he liberated the church, making Christianity a legal religion in the empire, and brought an end to the persecution of Christians.

Since then, the cross has been the universal symbol for Catholicism. There are some 400 varieties in use. Sometime in the Middle Ages, the body of Jesus was affixed to the cross and the image became known as a crucifix. It has become one of the most easily recognised symbols of the Catholic religion.

The Protestant world prefer plain crosses, while Catholics prefer the crucifix. For Many non-Catholics, the image of Jesus’ crucified body appear harsh. Some feel it’s like crucifying him over and over. Catholics on the other hand, prefer the crucifix to the plain cross because of the emotions it evokes – it helps them feel more connected to Jesus as human. Some Catholics also feel that the cross without Christ tends to become an idea rather than a real-life event that happened to a human man who was also the Son of God.

This is my research on the cross issue. I personally don’t have a problem with either one of them, but just prefer not to have one. However, I don’t kneel before one but that’s just me.

As for Wmscog, I believe they preach the cross as being a form of idol worship, something to that regard. Yet, they are the biggest idol worshippers.

Very good information on the cross by Sarh2013. Thanks.

May I add one more point? The cross was used privately by Christians even before Constantine. In fact, during a time of persecution, many even used the anchor instead of a cross to avoid identification.

However, after Constantine legitimized it, the cross appeared in public atop church buildings.

Oh, ok. Thanks. I certainly didn’t know that. I hope you see that I am not condemning the cross at all.

Your post was very well balanced and touched on some fine nuances.
