Does the WMSCOG have a new “end of world” prediction going on? My friend just went on a rant with me about how the end is coming very very soon. I also noticed 144000 saying something in the “Ron” post about the end coming soon, “again”!

That's not true. They beieve it's a generation (not necessarily a 100 years, because not many of us get to that age; more like 70-80) from the re-establishment of Israel.
A 'generation' yes, but if they start fudging on that one too, then there is a line in one of the books (the green one?) where Ahn says something about that the SDA can't be the true church because their prophecy for the end was more than 100 years old.

SimonParticipantI believe what he said was Sabbath isn’t the seal of god because there aren’t people over 100

I'll have to go check…

gennyParticipantHere it is, Chapter 33 "God's Sealing Work"
"Supposing that the sealing of the 144,000 saints began in 1844 [founding of the SDA church], those who received the seal at the beginning of the work should have been alive to be transformed and go up to heaven according to the prophecy. However, most of the Seventh-day Adventists born 100 years ago are no longer alive."

Well, I chose [yes, I chose without regards to the Scripture] 100 years because it's enough time for all the people of that generation to die; for those of us, though the number is small, who will make it to that age. Thus super proving them wrong.
Edit: I like 2048 better anyway. I have a better chance to see that year than I do 2085. =)

Smurf, that's ridiculous, it's all based on lies!!! There's a new term out there called "truthiness" It means if you tell a lie but have even a small amount of truth involved then you shouldn't be held accountable for your lie.
So, if they throw a little bit of truth in with their ridiculous LIES all their teachings are still bullshit!
ALL THEIR TEACHINGS ARE WRONG…..It's not a church, it's a cult
Looks like someone needs to watch the movie Ant Bully and learn it's spiritual meaning..

Renita, Phase I of the wmscog nightmare was research, I don't research anymore I'm in phase II of the nightmare, I just spew venom! I wonder what phase III will bring? I hope there is one

SmurfParticipantOh, yeah.. Phase III is [removed for rules].
Just strap yourself to a chair and you should be O.K.

Yeah…the members (or maybe I should only speak for myself) would get frenzied as Passover came near. I would try to "recruit" my family to get baptized and keep the Passover so the disaster would pass over them. In my heart I truly wanted them to be saved. Now though since Passover and 2nd Passover have passed I'm not sure what the latest thing is. They're probably just saying father's coming is VERY near. I'll see if I can find out.
So will this be his (aka father/Ahang) second or third coming cause I'm kinda tired of all his comings.
Pretty eyes, don't sweat it.

believe what exactly? Not all their teachings are wrong.
So do I side with the devil because he can quote scriptures accurately? Do I side with the devil because he can grant me wealth (do as thou wilt) then destroy my soul in the end? No, I don't. Deception which is always mixed with truth is completely unacceptable. Ask yourself what are the dichotomy of the devil and God. The dichotomy of good and evil.

Who's siding with the devil? Whether we like it or not we have to admit what the truth is no matter where it comes from. Are we going to say Jesus was not the Christ because the devil says He is? We don't believe it because the devil says so. We believe it because it's true. 2 enemies can agree on something and still enemies. No one says the WMSCOG is a good place because it has some truths. We collectively agree that it's a bad place although it has some truths.
Missionary told me, which I have been working on really hard, that sometimes I go against the grain so hard that it smacks me in the face. When I pictured it, it doesn't make any sense because the grain would snap back after I crossed over it completely, smacking the person behind me in the face.. BUT I knew what she was trying to say. =)

Well, I would like to stay in Phase 1 until this operation is complete.. Those other phases seem hateful. I know I hate.. I try not to. Gosh.. even thinking about a certain person made my face scrunch up. Lol..

Sarah2013ParticipantIn due time my point will be understood.
June 3, 2013 at 5:45 AM #62400
emilParticipantAs I have said before, I agree with Sarah2013 on this point. It is not my contention that eveything that the wmscog is wrong. However, if you take all those things which you think are good, you might mistakenly accept something that looks good at face value but has deeper issues. It requires proper discernment which is difficult immediately after being a member. For instance, many ex-members are concerned about having lost the PO when leaving the wmscog. But if they step back and study, they might find that the basis of the teaching itself is false. This does not mean that the NTPO is wrong or the partaking of the body and blood is wrong.
In my opinion, everything that might be good is actually not original and taken from elsewhere. That is why it is better to research the sources of their teaching too. I would suggest as Sarah2013 said elsewhere, there is nothing new under the sun where the wmscog is concerned. Dropping everything they say is not a loss because the good is from elsewhere if you take the time to find it.
Even the devil quoted scripture to Jesus. The scripture was right but he was misusing it. Be careful of all teachings of the wmscog.
June 3, 2013 at 5:55 AM #62401
Love'n HoneyParticipantI choose to continue to study with the devil. In his den is where I fit in.

Sarah2013ParticipantEmil, this is exactly the point I was trying to make. Though no hidden meaning behind what I said, I can see why it may be hard to fully grasp my drift.

Smurf asked me a question of which I answered. My answer didn't imply anyone was siding with the devil, "I" merely generalized my thoughts – using good and evil comparison.
June 3, 2013 at 9:16 AM #62404
SimonParticipantYou can’t have your cake and eat it too either they teach some truth or Jesus isn’t Christ and we shouldn’t receive his flesh and blood for eternal life we shouldn’t be baptized and we shouldn’t accept the bible
June 3, 2013 at 9:34 AM #62405
Sarah2013ParticipantNo they don't, Simon. I am not a baby. I know truth and I know deceptive truth – period.
