My 1st question about the bible, who is God?

Love'n HoneyParticipantThat's interesting because in english cattle & livestock are normally geared toward the plural form.

hey genny have you seen the website that the church of god created regarding slanderes of their truth
I did look into it. I have to say that I find the explanation about the words "angel" & "spirit" interesting. Especially "El" & "Eloah". Why do people add genders to inanimate* objects or invisible things? What purpose does it serve in communicating?

justasitisParticipantRenita – genders being given to inanimate objects is just what happens in different languages – doesn't have any deep signigficance – just how it is in most European languages. eg. peculiarly the German word for girl (das Madchen) is neuter ie neither male or female, so how odd is that? Most European langauages have male and female nouns – some have neuter. (Don't know about other nation's languages- maybe some have none, like English) It certainly doesn't mean that a noun designated as being female refers to a female etc. Maybe you could find some deeply meaningful explanation as to why some nouns are deemed to be feminine and some masculine in some languages, but I doubt it and doesn't really seem to be a good use of your time. xxx

Love'n HoneyParticipantWell, I think it matters. Because if some words in Hebrew call out to God using male context, does it mean anything? To the COG it does. Even Jesus called God Father, right?

Love'n HoneyParticipantChristians generally believe God is our Father. But that’s an incorrect belief if God is genderless.

Love'n HoneyParticipantMoroncy: I couldn't find it in the dictionary.
Somewhere in the OT, it says something about God coming as a capenter & a stonemason. The 1st time He came as only a capenter. So, He has to come a 2nd time as a stonemason which is what I'm told Ahnsahnghong did.
