If lies are illegal…

I learned in a college class about how the laws work in the U.S. that lying is illegal and therefore condemned by the law of the United States. However, there is a major group in this forum of individuals that understand that many of the teachings of the COG are not truth and there is scripture evidence that supports it. My question is: Is there any way to prove that the COG is been lying to people all this time changing the end of the world date every time the time they set is near? that could be legally their end. I do not believe that someone's statement can be a little bit of truth. Something is either true or false but it cannot be both at the same time. I really dont care no more about their demands and their rush to make people do things they want because I am not part of that crazy world anymore. I do not care if they want to say that "the temple is finished" or not, I do not care about "mother said" and I do not care anymore about "the end is on 20(they choose the number from 1-99) because I know they are not saying the truth and that the life of people in there is a ficticious lie that they want to pretend to bear fruit. If you get the opportunity to prove that they are lying, how would you do it? What evidence would you present? How many testimonies of people that have wasted their time and money are needed to stop them? When I was there and asked to go preaching it broke my heart to preach to people that were sharing time with their family at the moment because I did not want to be the one that separate them from their loved ones. I was asked to call them back or the group leader will call them or text them, I always asked God to please let them come if it was true but if it was a lie to keep them far. I never beared fruit. It was a lie because God showed me it was all fake.

There is no law against lying to my knowledge. There are contexts where you cannot lie but so far as I know it only counts in a court of law or if it is slanderous/libelous.

common sense usualy is quite enough to tell that you are dealing with a fraud, but wmscog usually aimed their recruitment effort targeting lonely or people who is under emotional stress, wmscog is not stupid, they know those people would have a very hard time leaving them and in same cases even downright refused to hear their own logic speaking because they just dont want to lose all that attentions which was given to them by the wmscog (just when they still think you have the probablity to be profitable for them though… if not, you would be a past tense even faster than you can say "anhsanghong")

Jelly, I think there is ample enough evidence to show to anyone that the COG is a fraud. Any person that hasn't been indoctrinated would come to that conclusion when the facts are presented to them. If I had the opportunity, I'd first and foremost show them every article on this website and the examining ASH blog. Then I'd ask them to read this forum. Some of the things I've read here from former members, and family of members is astounding. I don't think one could read what's written here and deny that they're being fed a pack of lies. Of course, their coercion is strong, and I'm sure I'd be proved wrong in no time.

I don't think there's really any legal argument to be made against them. Unless of course they actually are using Big Shine Worldwide in some illegal fashion, but that's a whole other ball of wax. There's really no way you can take someone to court to prove that their religion is false. I'm sure if there was we'd have seen the end of the jehovah's witnesses, seventh day adventists, scientologists, christadelphians, and all other manner of loonies a long time ago. But that will never happen. If it did, you'd have people proving all the Abrahamic faiths to be frauds, Buddhism, Shinto, tribal ancestor worship, etc etc.

None of that will ever come to pass. You just have to hold that court in your head.

I heard of a woman who won a judgement against Scientology because they actually told her that her IQ would improve if she took all of their seminars.  It turns out that her IQ worsened despite lots of money for seminars that were supposed to do the opposite.  Because she could prove that they promised her something in exchange for money that did not produce the results promised, she was able to make the case for fraud.

But what does the wms promise you in exchange for all of your tithes, good deeds, recruits, etc?  Eternal life…maybe?  How do you prove that to be a fraud.  You can't.

Now if they were using the donations for a non tax-exempt purpose, then that's different.  Hypothetically speaking, if that was to be the case, it would take someone with direct knowledge and proof to come forward to the authorities.

I have hear rumors of pastors having really large homes and expensive cars but no one has come forward with any real proof yet.  Maybe someone will be brave enough to look into this and really see what's going on.

One pastor I know lives in the church. There's a little house right on the property. It looks like it's part of the church but i've only seen the pastor and his wife go in there. I was told it was their home.

It makes sense to me since they have to be available so frequently.
