I have heard it too many times now. Members of the WMSCOG claiming that Ahn never predicted Jesus Christ returning in 1988. Thank you to the folks here for posting the flyer showing the prediction. It does bring up a rather pointed question however. If what the members say is the truth then what is the point of having a study showing that their god the father is giving them more time? More time from when? There are several years that have been predicted by both Ahn and Zahng. 1988, 1999, 2012, and now there are even rumors of 2015. Does the Jonah study seem to cover all of these as well? When does the proof of a false prophet ever get addressed? It seems that everything the WMSCOG does only leads to more unanswered questions. It makes sense because it makes some people keep coming back for more even though it's not the truth. It's like a good conspiracy theory, it leaves you hanging so you want to come back for more. There's some truth to them but mostly speculation. Not a great way to make life decisions.

Truthorlies2012ParticipantI totallly agree with your observation of leaving you hanging.. because thats is exactly what I went through for over a year. Getting the proper food at the proper time till I found this food here. I saw one of my facebook posts to a person I was preaching to and how arrogant I sounded. I couldnt believe I posted messages in that manner.
I feel sorry for all of us ex members because we have a pitiful way of disproving this church. I want so bad for it to be revealed as falshood because thats how much I don't believe in it any more. I would love to share my stories but through them my identity would be revealed. The stories I have would make a grown man cry. Maybe in due time I could share.

WMS brotherParticipantTL:DR God has, on several occaisions, told prophecies that didn't come true because he showed mercy. Understanding why that happens is important if you want to know the difference between right and wrong when it happens again in the future.

"Members of the WMSCOG claiming that Ahn never predicted Jesus Christ returning in 1988."
Yeah, because they didn't know that we did that.
For example, I'm a brother and this is the first time I'm hearing of it.
If you had asked me the same question two years ago, I would have told you "no never, we've never done that" based -purely- off of assumption.
And thats the point, a lot of people are making a lot of assumptions about what was said, and citing what the members at large say isn't as accurate as asking the head of the church for General Pastor's position on the matter.
There is a LOT a lot a lot of stuff that needs to be studied. The bible is a humongous book.

Hi WMS brother.
What does "TL:DR" mean? I've seen it twice from you now, and I think I'm missing something here…
Besides Jonah and Nineveh, what are the other prophcies that didn't come true?

I had an interesting experience preaching using the Koran and many other versions and translations of many different bibles.
Every single one them all said the exact same sentances. The only difference was grammer, and the context was always identical if you took the time to read the entire chapter.
No matter what the history of the bible version is, or how many thousands of years it has been, truley, as God has promised, not the least stroke of the pen has been removed.

Maybe because it takes at least an hour to explain each mystery in the bible. Its a -really- freakin huge book. It is my opinon that anyone who can preach in under an hour is probably forgetting stuff or not preaching in context.
Also the "whole world" will hate Jesus and his second coming. So I'm not really sure what the point of it would be. Ask a deacon or paster, or the headquarters. They have adresses, and e-mails and contact information. Surely you could ask someone in charge.

TL:DR means "Too Long, Didn't Read" it implies that if you didn't want to read my whole post, there is a summary of my opinion at the top.
I personally have not practiced those studies yet, to be able to preach them accurately. But I have heard them. I'm srill searching for the verse that I remember, and if someone else does remember, it would be a kindness if you posted.
Its a story about a king and God says his whole kingdom is going to be destroyed because of sins and et cetera. The king encourages his whole city to repent, and also he repents for himself, and God decides to fulfill the letter of his word by raizing a small portion of it, but tells his angel to spare the rest because God had a change of heart.

Thanks. I had not seen that abbreviation before.
When you have the other prophecies that didn't come true, please share. I'd like to see that list.

Absolutely, theres actually quite a few of them. I'll find the verses.
If anyone remembers, its the same story where the king has the choice of letting the army destroy him or being judged by God, and he says that he would rather throw himself upon the mercy of God because God is all loving.

Actually words have been changed and the Bible was made out of order at the Council Of Trent:
Regardless, I can open any bible with "Jehova-like" origins and preach the truth. The stories in each chapter will always say the same things. Adam and Eve, ten commandments, passover, et cetera.
Even the prophecies themselves remain in context with -any- version of -any- bible. Isaiah 9:6 promises the throne of david to the male child, and in Luke 1:31 gabriel promises the throne to Jesus. Likewise with ruling the kingdom of Jacob forever.
Different words, but exact same message. Translation and verse fidelity is extremely accurate to the original story spoken thousands of years ago. I maintain that through God's grace you can preach with the torah, koran, Pentateuch, any language or revision of any bible.

SimonParticipantI would also like to point out the order of the books isn't what God inspired but the words within them. Jews put them in an order because it was logical to them God never gave a book with them in order and said read them in this order or you go to gehena forever and ever

I feel you BIG TIME Truthorlies! It's hard to let go of the anger. It's been four months since I left but the feelings of anger, frustration, bitterness and confusion are still as fresh as they were four months ago. I'm more than just scarred, I'm traumatized….Please, I need to know from other former members. how do you go on without a proper closure? I still have a LOT of questions that were left unanswered and I'm still very much indoctrinated to even go back to what could be the real truth,God it's just so hard! *long sigh*

StainedParticipant"The Way"
They made up their minds
And they started packing
They left before the sun came up that day
An exit to eternal summer slacking
But where were they going without ever
Knowing the way?
They drank up the wine
And they got to talking
They now had more important things to say
And when the car broke down they started walking
Where were they going without ever
Knowing the way?
Anyone can see the road that they walk on
Is paved in gold
And it's always summer
They'll never get cold
They'll never get hungry
They'll never get old and grey
You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere
They won't make it home
But they really don't care
They wanted the highway
They're happier there today, today
Their children woke up
And they couldn't find them
They left before the sun came up that day
They just drove off and left it all behind 'em
But where were they going without ever
Knowing the way?

It is the attitude of superiority manifested in that overbearing manner or in presumptuous claims and assumptions that is bothering you the most (is my guess). I mean, you catch someone doing something they're not supposed to, or telling a lie, if the person has even a shread of dignity left in them, they say, yeah, you got me, sorry, don't know what I was thinking, it'll never happen again ect….It's when someone continues a lie by covering that lie with another lie and so on and so on that really rips people up inside. But it's at this point when some people continue to believe (or follow regardless of obvious evidence to the contrary) that leads me to say to myself, or to the person(s) in question: "You'll find out". I mean, what else can you do ? I so have a problem with arrogance. They stand there with that smug look on their face protected by laws never intended to protect what they're doing and it just outrages the normal average everyday Joe and Jane. In any free society there's not a whole lot we can do but lets see them set up a house church in Iran or tell the Ayatollah that god is korean. LOL.

I totally understand Frustrated… and Truth… I feel like many things were stolen from me. My time, my loved one, money, etc. I find comfort in speaking out in the forum and trying to help others escape the group. Frustrated…, you studied your way in to the wms, study your way out. It worked for me.
