Husbands and obedience

I have noticed that when a wife is a non member and questions church doctrine or methods, she is told she must obey and help her husband, and that it says so in the Bible.  Her questions or concerns are minimized.  On the other hand, if a husband is a non member, then the wife does not receive the same instruction.  I have been told that in that case, she is not to listen to her husband.  Where does it say that in the Bible?  Where does it make an exception if your husband is not a member of the wmscog?

Many marriages have been broken up by the church, this is a fact.  I think the worst scenario is when small children are affected.  How can leaders in a church advise wives and husbands not to listen to each other and compromise when their children are the ones who ultimately suffer?

I now know of two instances where the non member spouse has said they were considering leaving the member spouse since their behavior had become outrageous and erratic due to church influence.  It was eerie that the response by the member spouse was the same,"I would be sad for a while, but I'd get over it."  It seems to me that the member was prepared with a response in advance.  Since members are programmed how to respond to everything else, this could also be a response they are told to give, couldn't it?

But will they ever really "get over it"?  Especially later when they realize they were in a mind control group and it broke up their family?  Would anyone who finally realized what happened to them as a result of being in the wmscog every really get over the loss of a loved one or of the time they lost with their kids?  It is a very sad situation.  People, if you are in there, please take another look.  Their lies aren't worth losing your family.

The Koreans think if they have control of the husband, they can get whatever money they want. If they only have control of the wife they may not be able to get as much money or none at all. They don’t care who gets hurt. All they care about is the money…bottom line!

That's a very callous mentality if that is how they think.

Yep. Typical for most asian people. Racial stereotypes exist for a reason.

I think Disturbed is completely right.  All they care about is the money.  They will debate scripture ad nauseum with you and be completely happy even if you don't agree, but you mess with their money source and they scream like a stuck pig.

Especially Koreans……it is what it is……not all of them but certainly in general

I would not be surprised to find out that "the koreans in charge" believe that they are just running a buisness and there is nothing wrong with there buisness plan or tactics. wmscog – mama san = Amway

    Nah!

The Amway problem, as I understand it, is purely the distribution network and the way it squeezes the downline. But at least the product is not bad from what I hear. Never used Amway products myself but have been to their distributor meeting some years ago.

With the WMSCOG, the distribution network is as bad as or worse than Amway, but more importantly, the product itself is BS.

Coming to think of it, I once attended a performance by a John Wayne immitator at Tucson many years ago. While the Americans there seemed to lap up the one-sided rhetoric, for me it was much like the rah rah at the Amway meet. No offense meant to my American friends.

No doubt the products are different but the core buisness plan is the same……bring in more talent, make more money, sales managers, keep all your sales people 100% focused on the mission at all times don't let any of them bad mouth Amway……and don't forget to smile!

Emil, a friendly diss at john Wayne (a great american) is ok but let's make a pact,  Ronald reagan is off limits and we'll stay away from ghandi. Ok Pilgrim? just kidding buddy..

    @Sarah2013
    – you ought to choose your words carefully. Once in the States I was with an Englishman who was mighty upset when an American (of Scottish descent) gas station attendant told him he loved his English accent, which reminded him of his grandfather.

He was incredulous. "What?" he says, "The English have and accent?"  ๐Ÿ™‚

And if both parents are involved, the woman is still in charge and the husband can do no right.  She watches while he does all the work!  Just my observation.

its fairly standard christian doctrine that the obedience doesn't apply when the husband isn't christian since he is supposed to be spiritual head of househole but if he is in the dark as it were then he fails as spiritual head

"…she is told she must obey and help her husband, and that it says so in the Bible." This is one of the things I find fundamentally wrong with the "good book." No loving God would order such a thing. Weak minded men on the other hand, would kill for such an arrangement. I'll take a strong, independent woman any day over someone who thinks she needs to "obey" me.

And as it pertains to WMS, is it really any surprise that there's a double standard that way? THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY!
