Hello fam! I'm writing up short bible studies so I can be prepared when I finally approach members of the WMSCOG. I'll post them here so you can review them and help me make them better. Because many members won't come to this site, I think it's appropiate to speak from our mouths to them. I'm trying to keep the studies short, sweet, and to the point. It should take no longer than 5 minutes for me to get the point across.

How Many Gods Does the Bible Testify?

The WMSCOG preaches there are 2 Gods, the Father and the Mother. They use many verses in the Bible to back up this idea. For every verse they use to prove their side, there is at least one verse which contradicts them. Let us begin with the Hebrew term "Elohim."

    Who is Elohim?

The direct translation of Elohim is Gods, a plural word. From this word alone, it is implied that there is more than one God. Ge 1:26-27, God (Elohim) uses the terms "us" and "our." If there is only one God, the proper way to describe who created mankind is to use "me" and "my." But because God uses "us" and "our", that means someone created humans along with God the Father. Ge 1:1 says God created the heavens and the earth. Therefore, the "us" in Ge 1:26 applies only to God, not the angels, hosts, or other angelic creatures. From these verses, can we say there is more than one God? Mal 2:10-15 heavily contradicts the claims of the WMSCOG. "Did not one God create us?" (Mal 2:10). You may ask what Hebrew term for "God" was used here. To answer, it is "El" a singular word, not "Elohim." Right away, the Scripture goes against itself saying more than one God created us in Ge 1:26 and saying only one God created us in Mal 2:10. So which is it, Gods or God?

We (Singular) Are Not the Slightest Bit Pleased

The use of a plural pronoun to refer to a single person is called the majestic plural. Nosism is the use ot the majestic plural. It illustrates the power and dignity of a particular person or being, singular. The only way for Ge 1:26 and Mal 2:10 to be in harmony with each other is if the God who created mankind is nosistic.

Shall We (Plural) Worship Other Gods?

There are many false gods but as we just learned, the Scripture only testifies of one nosistic God who blesses us. Dt 11:16 says be careful not to worship other gods. No matter how many verses or which faulty evidence a false prophets provides us, do not let them "deceive you by fine-sounding arguements." Col 2:4

    Ok but why would lot bow down to angels, (makes it seem as these angels are superior, like the father & son) and also on Genesis 18: 3-5 how is it that when Abraham offers water, footwash, and food they say;

“Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.”

why would all 3 answer back, makes me think of the trinity

    ??????????

did Abraham really see God and 2 of his angels or did he see the Father, Son, & Holy Spirit and thats why all 3 answered back the same thing.  I would think that God has the authority here, do you understand what I'm saying?

And us and our also means more than one

Phrases like they responded they said etc appear in writings all the time without meaning everyone spoke

WHAT WORD ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?(NO I'M NOT YELLING) 🙂

19 The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. My lords,” he said, “please turn aside to your servant’s house. You can wash your feet and spend the night and then go on your way early in the morning.”

AND WHY WOULD HE TELL ANGELS THAT HE IS THEIR SERVANT????

Angels in Hebrew the word means messenger. And more than god has servants. And even a host will refer to himself as servant as will someone being respectful of someone in higher authority

we have no reason to believe lot believed they were anything but human at first.

I understand the frustration in this scripture because I asked my missionary the same questions. She said they are not the son and hs but god the father and 2 angels. As far as bowing, people bow out of respect all over the world. They do it a lot at the wmscog. But according to the bible you’re not supposed to bow at anything you claim holy that isn’t god himself. To me it implies that you can bow to a king or to an angel as long as you don’t revere that being as a god figure. The part about answering requests.. idk about that. My thinking is that the angels (messengers) went to god, asked, and came back and repeated what god said word for word. Supposedly they can move that fast. But that doesn’t satisfy me. Also, there’s a major difference between Lord and lord in the bible.

My understanding of the bowing issue is about the same, is your bowing what we in English call worship, or just a symbolism of respect? That makes for a huge distinction so far as I understand the scripture.

In america, we don’t bow to show respect. Not even to our president. But in other countries people bow to their king, parents, etc. To show respect. Is there a verse in the OT where a man of god supposed to bow but didn’t because it would break the 2nd commandment.

I think you won't find any verse in the bible about that, Renita. Since the 2nd commandment pertains to IDOLS, which are man-made images. So it is not applicable to bowing to a man. It was not stated that you can't bow to any man. Maybe that's why God didn't forbid it because He understands that bowing does not always mean worshipping.

Mordachai refused to bow to Haman in the book of Esther

Is that bowing thing related to worship or was it just plain disrespect?

Mordachai felt it was related to worship

Then it's case closed. Mordachai doesn't want to bow down because he felt it was related to worship, so he was forming his own opinion that it was not right. If it was okay for him, he would have done it. So it still goes back to a custom or personal belief of that person but it would related to the 1st commandment now, not the 2nd one.

Or may have been knowledge of Hamans intentions but in either case you do have an argument of first commandment but those two are pretty closely tied (hence catholics merging them [not deleting the third as WMSCOG claims])

Hmm… I think the 1st commandment tells us to WORSHIP ONLY GOD and the 2nd commandment pertains on the HOW TO WORSHIP GOD (by not making any graven image) so the catholics really should not have deleted that 2nd commandment. LOL.
