How does the leadership work exactly?

    I know team leaders are usually in charge of a small group & they need to be firm in their faith.

    They are usually 21-28?

    Next is Deaconess / deacons and are in charge of everyone as a whole?

    So who gets paid? I remember hearing that in the Zion’s I was with , only missionaries get salary and that deacons get paid sometimes and TL’s get bonuses for every tithing member who stays or church debit cards.

    The religion part never got me hooked but the business aspect did.

    It seemed that the leaders never really had a Worldly job they were always in church no matter time of day/night.

    I also found it interesting that the Korean deacons/deaconesses and certain sisters who were direct from Korea were very private and very quiet , kind of like keeping a watchful eye.

    Leaders also were very private about anything to do with their private lives but insisted they knew every detail about sisters and brothers lives.

    This was in a nj/ny Zion’s.

    Any experience similar?

    Deacons are male and in certain instances are allowed to give batisms and give sermons and even head up churches. Women with the similar title always play a supportive role and are encouraged to act like a woman who doesn't even exist: mother. Women never give sermons or baptise but are allowed to make prayers.

    I wonder why women are treated that way? Aren't we created in the image and likeness of God? Men as father and women as mother? So is mother inferior?

    @Emil
    … The Bible discriminate against women. in fact, all religions do, yet, women are greater in number when it comes to following a religion. numbers are 10 to 1…

    I wonder why is that…

     That is categorically false

    Simon, read a little ..All religions, no exceptions, discriminate against women, one way or another.

    @Travis:  Your posts ring true and from the heart.  I don't want to get side tracked on the issue of discrimination here though.  It just takes the original discussion off on a tangent.  Sometimes that is what members want to see.  They would like to see our real arguments seem petty, which they are anything but.

    Someone posted in another thread that you need to be a korean to run a church. idk where it was, but just so everyone knows that is not true.

    @Unknown
    :  Do you mean run a church, or be a pastor?  I think most people haven't seen a non Korean pastor.

    You are probably correct on that.  I don't think there are any Pastors that aren't Korean, though.  I think that is what most people are talking about.

    I am definitely correct because a white man ran the church in CT for over 5 years.
