I thought this group was the WMSCOG. One of the key components of a cult is that it uses other names or fronts if you will. Why the need for deception? Already you have a misinterpretation of Elohim and then you call it an academy like it’s a separate entity. The Cult Alarm is going off again.
No Elohim Academy is not a name for a front.
I was under the impression that the Elohim Academy was their school, kind of like seminary, where people can go, study and become preachers. Am I close to this understanding?

When I went out to recruit with the WMS I was told to say that we were from the Elohim Academy as well. It's another name for the bible study group I guess but when people would ask what church we were from, we would always answer "church of god". Which is pretty vague considering how many different ones there are. Deceptive indeed.
When I asked my sister what her new church was, she also answered "Church of God." I agree that is deceptive because there are so many churches with that in their name ("Church of God") and "World Mission Society Church of God" is SO different from the others in their fundamental beliefs. I had to take the clues from our conversations and go find out myself which church it really was.
(That's why it's my preference to not refer to them as merely "Church of God" or COG. I think "World Mission Society" or WMS or WMSCOG is a clearer abbreviation.)
WMC is the offical short abbreviation as it is known WMSCOG is the long form COG is the other because we call ourselves COG to eachother even I rarely think about the WMS part myself WMS is part of the name for more legal purposes so far as I am aware.
It is not deceptive practice the Church's name is Church of God and it's legal identity is World Mission Society Church of God
joshua you are right. They claim to be the church of god from the bible. The missionary from the manhattan office has gone as far as to say that some of the apostle knew about mother god. There was this verse in the bible that had me thinking for a long time and I think that for me that verse made me leave the church. they used this verse about if a person or an angel preaches a gospel that is not the one being preached in the bible let them be comdemed or something like that. I thought to my self right there and then, all this doctrines where not taught back them, I never herd any church prior to this talking about a mother god and then it just clicked for me ,this church is fake.and my eyes were open.

praise God. yes, you are right. they are always talking about being the Church of the Bible, but when you actually study the history of Christianity, you are right–their beliefs are absolutely unheard of in the annals of Christian antiquity.
i think you were referring to Galatians 1:8:
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!
for anyone who bothers to actually pick up a historical Christian work outside of what the WMS provides and read for themselves, they will find no early Christian teaching on a mother god or keeping the feasts, etc:

Even if it is not the true church your claim that Elohim Academy is a deceptive name is a lie. I believe there has been a great deception for millenia. Daniel 7:25 makes it clear Sunday Christmas and Easter are NOT of God.

Have you heard the service about the Church of God in the Bible where the WMS claims that they are called the "Church of God" because all the churches in the NT were referred to as such? For example the Church of God in Corinth. During this service, I remember the pastor arguing that the WMS was fulfilling prophecy in the Bible by being called "Church of God" as opposed to Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, etc because those names are not found in the text.
You may be interested to know that when Ahnsahnghong first established his church, it was called "Ahnsahnghong Witnesses Church". The WMSCOG run by Joo Cheol Kim and Zhang didn't adopt it's name until some time after the failed prophecy of 1988. I found this to be a problem because if Ahn was supposed to restore the "truth" then why would he name his church after himself, only to have the WMS change it? Do you understand how this would be a problem?

Sorry I heard this from babylon pastors several times never once in Zion so it is well known to the world who he was. Further more I do not consider a point from anyone Past John valid, nor would I before I was at WMC.

Shimon, do you know what "WMC" stands for? Please do not tell me "World Mission Society Church of God", cause we all know
"WMSCOG" is the abbreviation for that, not WMC. And where are those initials? Why are they there? You should know this.
I do not know what WMC stands for BUT that is what the HQ sign in seoul says.
