I would be very please if someone kindly elaborate why WMSCOG didn't realy encourage much preaching to disable, handicap, poor people or sometimes to be more precise gay and lesbians?

SimonParticipantI have to agree with wms brother here: deacon told me sin is sin doesn’t matter if he likes guys or wants to be with 100 women he needs to overcome with father and mother

ElievalkyrieParticipantWMS brother, I gave my brother (one of your member) historical facts that Constantine did not abolish the Passover. He just said it doesn't matter who did it as long as it was fulfilled "according" to the prophecy. So basically, he was saying that it is okay if you teach falsely, the end result is still the same. Do you also hold this belief?

Sarah2013ParticipantGood girl!
February 10, 2013 at 6:27 AM #52543
Sarah2013ParticipantSimon, I really need to say this: you confuse the world out of me.
February 10, 2013 at 6:30 AM #52544
ElievalkyrieParticipantlol. Sarah, don't worry. Simon doesn't follow wmscog teachings but he is just very skeptical about many things that sometimes I think his main goal is just to prove everyone that they are wrong but he still have his strengths as he can look at one topic with objectivity.
February 10, 2013 at 6:36 AM #52545
Sarah2013ParticipantLol. Seriously, I get so confused with him. Simon, what’s the deal? If God be for us who can be against us? By the way, that’s scriptural.
February 10, 2013 at 9:50 AM #52546
SimonParticipantcan you explain what you’re confused about in what I said

Thank you.

This same problem happened to me. But its actually a really simple misunderstanding.
We have an Evidence Book which is just a collection of historical articles you can find on Google or historical textbooks. All the information in it is already public and you can find it anywhere.
But some brothers, like myself, didn't know how to research it in detail, so I had to "go by" the bare bones that I could remember from viewing the Evidence Book for my first time.
Sadly, in my hubris, I mis-spoke about Constantine in the early days of my preaching. Though now I have a bookmark folder full of historical datas. I reccomend everyone reads up on some history.
So heres the misunderstanding:
Constantine did not say "The Passover is now Outlawed, and all Christians are going to jail."
What Constantine DID say was what -dates- were being changed, from "easter" (which was bad enough to begin with).
THUS the options left by Christians were to continue practicing and ignore the new dates set by Constantine, or concert AWAY from true Christianity.
And yes, there are several records of this being straight up against the law. Various roman authorities flip-flopped over Christian religious freedoms. For a very long time in fact, even BEFORE the abolishment of the Passover (Which while the abolishment had BEGUN, it was not truley destroyed, in complete and full, for some more time)
Reference the following:
"Maximinus had instructed his subordinates to desist, but had not released Christians from prisons or virtual death-sentences in the mines"
All throughout Roman history, Christians who kept Christs commands were being outlawed and murdered, here is one example out of many, more can be found by researching Roman Officials and Christian Persecution.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edict_of_Milan
So yes, it is a complicated piece of history, but no, we are not lying to say that Constantine Abolished the Sabbath. It is, however, a simplification of how things began, and how Christians were tortured for disobeying the Emperor in even the slightest ways.

king34ParticipantWHY DO YOU GUYS QUOTE FROM WIKI – PEDIA NOT A VERY RELIABLE SOURSE. USE SOMEHTING ELSE TO BE MORE CREDICBLE
February 12, 2013 at 3:40 PM #52549
ElievalkyrieParticipantTrue, wikipedia is not very reliable especially the ones that have "citation needed". It means the source needs to be verified for it to be relied upon.

How can you say it was a simple misunderstanding? This topic about Constantine abolishing the P.O is taught to every member in our zion by the deacon and deaconess.
February 12, 2013 at 4:26 PM #52551
king34ParticipantI must agree with you eli.. Since I came in to the church they have been teaching this not only to new comers but also with brothers and sisters that are learning to teach sabbath and other studies. they have a well detail book of evidence stating that constatine did this.

ElievalkyrieParticipantI wish we can make some kind of poll question here in this website. I want to know what the wmscog majorly taught their members.
