Current Phobias

It is well known that cults install phobias in their members to scare them into staying.  Currently there are more than one tactic being used on the wms members.  I have heard that September 23rd is when the world will end because  meteorite is supposed to hit the earth.  Then I have heard members are being told that "World War III has already started, tell everyone to come and study NOW!"  I guess that must a reference to the conflict with North and South Korea.  (I do suppose the wms Koreans are pretty hyped up about that)  I have also heard that September 23rd is the end because it is the end of the "Jubilee year."  This is the same tactic used when they told everyone 2012 was the end of the world (and 1988, and 2000!).  How many times do they have to be wrong to get members to awake from their comas?

Are there other phobias that you know of that are being used as well?  I've probably just touched the surface.  This is a widely known method CULTS use to control members and scare them into staying in something they really don't want to.  It is like they are dangling a carrot of fake salvation in front of their faces and they are running toward it all the time, but will never reach it.

How about the phobia that there is no other place where people can worship God? There's a straight out paranoia about that.

My sister ( not in the cult ) said they were following NASA predictions of a meteor hitting the earth in September. NASA said there will be no meteor to hit the earth, at least not in September.

One more phobia when i was there was  mother can hear fathers foot steps and she is praying for father to delay his comming because we are not prepared. We still love the world and we are catching on to the greed of the earth like money, lust, jealousy etc  which satan has given us, bacisly our sins in heaven, our biggest sin is we supported satan in killing mother and father there was a big war in heaven( Rev 12-9 )so we were thrown to this earth.Mother is not well and she was told by the doctors to be admitted but she refused.Mother also sleeps late and gets up early in the morning and prays on her knees, she is all bones inside what you see out side is all make up just to show us she is fine so prepare your selves and go preaching daily so we can return to our heavenly home.Mother can look into heaven and earth at the same time she knows everything who will be saved and what is going on in every zion.During the sabbath worship father and mother are sitting on the two wooden chairs we see in zion and many angels arround them it is a big celebration like you see in a festive occasion and see that the curtains are well closed of the windows because you have satan angels peeping from the outside of zion who are very cuorios to know whats going on the inside. If you miss one sabbath worship on a sabbath day is like missing one step on the staircase to the kingdom of heaven.Mother is also tired listening to the complaits of brothers and sisters people from India mumbai zion borivli have called her late in the night wanting to complain about their missionary in their zion.In short basicly they have put fear in members do your work well dont trouble mother keep worship give your money.

The most rediculous phobia I heard ( though I believed it when I was a member) was ” father said whistling attracts evil spirits”.

    No Sh*t!

I was told the exact same thing! I can remember how terrified I would get if someone would start whistling and I would want to immediately interupt them and preach boldly abou ash! And if I walked away from that situation without having said anything I would be so guilty for not having had enough faith to tell them the "truth".

    :'D

But there is just so much fear and guilt that they instill in members that it would be very long to explain in writing but Brian already mentioned in one of his videos about  the "correcting" that would happen to more senior members and that description was rather accurate, because I myself was a regular recipient of Korean "correction"

Part of the reason why the fears stick to members is because everything that comes from the Koreans is taken as the absolute and unquestionable truth. They literally trample on whatever self-worth you may have and are always making you fear them more than anything simply because at the time you accept the authority that the person has. Whether it's a team leader, deaon or pastor etc…

One phrase that was always used was "heavenly mother says" but meanwhile you find that it was all some rubbish that some Korean senior was making up to get members to comply and do whatever the Koreans wanted them to do. This was a very popular tactic to use amongst non-Korean members but amongst each other the Koreans were very blatant that the instruction never came from "mother"

    Discernment is never encouraged

Thanks for the reminders of all the phobias the wms installs.  The one about whistling is something I hadn't heard, but is really a ridiculous one that, I have to admit, makes me laugh.  Yet, at the same time it is so sad that something as joyful as a whistled tune could be made into something to strike terror into the hearts of duped members.  My Dad, the most positive person I ever knew, used to whistle every morning and dance around when he got up, and that was a happy childhood memory for me.  My son loved his grandpa so much, and that alone should be a sign to him that the wms has it all wrong.

I forgot to mention the phobia about Satan coming in the form of your family and/or friends to "steal your soul" by talking negatively about the church.  Or the phobia about even doubting their preachings.  Don't you know those thoughts are from Satan, brother?  Oh please.
