Online it says her birthday is Oct 29th, however my sister says today is a religious holiday and it’s Heavenly Mother’s birthday. Im lost. Once again things are not adding up?
Can someone clarify this?

SelenaParticipantWhen I was in the World Mission Society they told us that in South Korea they go by a different type of calendar than we do in the United States. I think it was lunar or something like that I really don't remember. Anyway, the american dates for both zhang gil jah birthday and ahnsahnghong birthday will always be different every year according to them.

Felicia1122ParticipantSounds like a load of BS if you asked me. Mighty funny how the 1st of the year is always the 1st of the year. Also ahn bday is printed on his death certificate. What he date of death is different each year too.

SelenaParticipantIt actually is. It celebrated on different dates in February. They celebrate it as Father's Ascension Day and you have to fast.

gennyParticipantKorea uses a traditional lunar calendar (like the Chinese, besides the Gregorian, or western, calendar), and like the Hebrew calendar the dates do not always convert to the same western date (like how Hanukkah is always on a different date on our calendar every year). It's because the lunar calendar has fewer days in the year than our calendar, and to make up for it they add a whole leap month every so often, instead of a leap day.

Felicia1122ParticipantWell that would make sense. I didn't know they were actually still doing this.

Ya I felt real awkward about celebrating her birthday especially when I remember how the wmscog condemn christmas…my self assurance at that time was that well at least we are sure that 12th Nov is really her birthday but 25th december is questionable so I guess it's ok….
But to put it on such high level of importance is still weird, to be honest, and telling you to ignore about your exams? That's too much for me.
Then again, the sheer number of evidences against them is just so great that I decided to leave anyway lol

UntouchableJParticipantSuggesting someone miss an exam. Just like the WMSCOG. I remember when we found out that members let their small children fast under suggestion from leadership. It always bugged me that Zhang and ASH bdays were never mandatory..but, members should, “Make every effor.

japchaeforlifeParticipantLol it’s superrrrr weird too in my opiniin but I just followed them thinking that 144 000 is without any defect meaning will comply to every command of that cult.
Hahaha I felt bad that day.. the subject was chemistry.. and I wasnt able to study since I stayed til late at night in zion and I didnt even made an effort to answer carefully but whatever im thankful I didnt fail 🙂 Luck is still with me. Finally felt better being able to be human again (not a slave sinner who has no right for rest and enjoyment)
