Hey, I'm a long time reader of the website (since Apr 2012). Here's my story.

My wife and I met in high school in 2004. She was such a sweet girl, so different than any woman I'd ever met or have met since then. I was instantly attracted to her. We talked daily, but she didn't want to date me cause of my issues (wasn't the best student, lol).

To make a long story short, we ended up going to the same college, but didn't date really until our senior year of college. We were madly in love. Once we graduated the job market was very slim. A year after that I decided to join the military. We were married soon after that and eventually I left for basic training. Near the end of basic training my wife began telling me about this great new church she'd began going to that was teaching her so much about the bible. I was very happy for her. I knew she took me leaving for the army very hard and I was glad she found something that she enjoyed to keep her mind occupied. Personally, I was never really big on religion.

After a while of being apart (more training right after basic), I began getting a little worried about my wife. She didnt call as much and always seemed busy with something else. One day while we were speaking she jokingly said "I'm packing our bags, to get ready" (or something like that). I still didn't know what she was involved in, so finally I asked the name of the church and began to research online. After that I asked her not to attend the church for our best interest. When she found out I researched online and me asking her to stop going, she was furious. I'd never seen that side of my wife before. After a few weeks of researching I decided to go to the wmscog with my wife and did a brief "lesson" and attended the "sabbath service". I was so uncomfortable the whole time and told my wife I still thought wmscog was no good.

A few weeks later my wife was supposed to be coming out to visit me for a weekend. She told me that she may only be able to come on a sunday instead of the entire weekend just so she could attend wmscog in her state instead of the entire weekend. I completely lost it when I heard that. I yelled, cursed, and said many things I regret to this day.

The next day I apologized and begged for forgiveness, but the damage was done. In the following months our marriage deteriorated as we argued constantly and the distance grew further due to my military job. Now she's decided our marriage is no longer what she wants. This pain hurts more than anything I've ever felt in my entire life. I want wmscog exposed and brought down. I never want any one else to go through this, its just evil.

i am sorry to hear that, soldier! you are not the first or will be the last whos personal life were robbed and destroyed by wmscog but hang in there and stay strong, sooner or later people will be more aware about those crooks and hopefuly significant actions will be taken by those who are aware of this to prevent more innocent victims to fell into their religious mumbo jumbo trap.

I so sorry to hear this happened to you.  I completely feel your pain on this one, military relationships and wmscog DO NOT MIX AT ALL, especially if one is a member and the other isn't.  I'm continuosly having my heart brokened and go through the emotional and mental wringer because of this church.  I hope that your wife, my ex-fiance, and everyone else wakes up and realizes what terrible things this "church" has done to people.

A relationship with anyone who is active duty and the other civilian doesn’t mix well. Period. Member actually see the military members as blessed to visit other zions, preach from country to country. They can spread the message much faster than a common wealth civilian american. I think it doesn’t matter what occupation or living situation someone is in, if one is a member and the other isn’t, life will be very difficult. And not just a member but a believer.

No matter how hard things are in long distance relationships, it IS possible to pull it off. I agree, it has more to do with the people involved than with anything else, but if the cog is thrown into the mix then it definitely exacerbates the situation. Either way, brother, be strong, and focus on the road ahead. Let bygones be just that- bygones. Uno…

I do wonder though.. do these people believe things happen for a reason? I know talking to one couple they said their experience with the cog brought them closer together. While others were broken apart. Is this the work of the devil or of god?

Satan is the bringer of confusion. Evil makes even the most well balanced people unsteady. I have made no miswords about how evil this cult is. I also have not misworded my belief that there are many, many well intentioned people who think that they are doing the will of god. Overall this group is following the lies of a few very evil people and in doing so have had their very humanity stolen from them. Satan is the father of lies and desires to kill the human soul. Things can exist without a soul but they do not live. Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. I could really get on a soap box about this but I believe that I've made my very valid point. Satan comes to destroy.

Soldier, I feel your pain. You made the right decision standing up against this cult though. It is better to stand up for good than to sit idly by while your loved one is deceived and raped, spiritually and financially. Never stop standing up for good. It's all us good people have. PM me if you need to talk or vent or something, I work the graveyard shift and I'm a bit of an insomniac so I'm always checking here.

Yes, soldier you are now a warrior for Christ…..

Psalm 37:1-40 :Fret not yourself because of evildoers, be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like grass and wither like the green herb. Trust in the Lord, and do good, dwell in the Land and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust in Him and he will act…"

Hello Kim. I'm surviving, but I miss my wife terribly. She still refuses to communicate with me at all. I've been diving into a lot of bible reading, research etc.

First off, I want to commend Soldier for being able to share this with us. Maybe some wmscog member would read his story and help that person realize the mistake of joing that religion. I would also like to say sorry for your loss, buddy, hang in there.

The negative side of this wmscog spreading is that they are destroying more and more families as we speak and the positive side of it is that they bring the victims more closely to God. Those deceived are driven into finding out the truth and by Bible reading, also becomes spiritually enriched as they come to know God more.

So I believe that evil things happening are always the work of Satan, but God lets it happen because sometimes, people just needs a wake-up call to make them to acknowledge that God DO exist. When we experience bad things in life, this makes us appreciate the good, those happy moments in life. We get to learn from our mistakes and this makes us more stronger. In His own way, God is preparing us for the worst things to come so I guess we can all call ourselves warriors or soldiers, spiritually, training for the "last battle".

This is a hard time for everyone. Those who get separated from their loved-ones due to this cult are suffering from loss and the people that only hears of these stories are suffering from helplesness. So let us pray for one another, and just pray to God that He may protect our loved-ones and give them mercy wherever they may be.

    God bless everybody.
