Hello! Brothers and sisters in Christ!
My name is Louis, and I am a student from Singapore who at the same time is a Catholic:) I once had the happiest clique of friends, they were 6 of us including myself, and we all know each other since we were all 13 years old back in 2005. It has always been US against the world and we were truely happy! Although we are of different race and religious belief (Catholic, Protestant, Taoist, Buddist and Atheist) we have the most utmost respect for each other and we were inseperable…
Until last year, one of the girl in my clique were involved with WMSCOG, at first we know that she was in a church and all of us were like "oh! that is great! "I hope she will learn more about God" "She is finally recieving the gift of faith!" but in the end… she started to despise us, thinking that we are the false prophets, we dishonored God and she stopped contacting us and became someone we don't know.
At that time, one of her favorite phrase was "you can doing things not in the BIBLE and not believing what the BIBLE tells you" She is of course refering to the passover, sabbath and mother God and even went to the extend of telling in my face that the Catholic is evil and I should read the bible and follow it because it is the true authority…
I was foolish back then and felt that I was really in the wrong… Maybe I am the false prophet… Maybe WMSCOG is the true church afterall! I even went to their "education centre" and was told all sort of adstract distorted verse in the bible and so called "historical facts" and was at that time I really almost believed, but when I was offered to be baptised the Holy Spirit gave me a faint whisper in my heart… "Don't do it Louis… Don't do it…" and I didn't… I ran away as fast as I can back home and lock myself in my room and cried… Not because I am glad that I did not get baptised, but I was scare… Frighten for my salvation and starting to doubt the Church I have always loved, the Church that feeds the hungry, give money to the poor and give hope to those who have none…
This was in this time I felt close to God, more than I have in many years… And I thought to myself, I will not allow WMSCOG to tell me THEIR truth but I am going to seek the truth myself with God guiding me! And for the next couple of days I studied biblical material intently and was still not pleased as I realised there is no use using the words Jesus, the prophets or apostles used in the bible, as WMSCOG is masters at twisting words and verse! So I thought, what if I just macro my study of the bible instead of mirco-studying it… And with that I like to share some of my reflection about the true bible and how the WMSCOG is contridicting itself…
Origin of the bible
I am sure most of you know that the bible did not start out as the Holy Bible, it is a series of letters, eyewitness account, palsm and songs. So how did the bible we know today came to be? The bible that WMSCOG claimed that they are the only true follower.
It all started in 384AD when the Council of Rome was convened to standardise and complied a collection of text for the Catholic Church. At that time there was an arguement within the council what text was consider canonical and what was not, it was the Bishop of Rome at that time, Pope Damsus I who put an end to all arguement and standardised the text to what we know today as the Bible.
But wait! Didn't WMSCOG claimed that the Catholic Church was the anti-christ? So why the heck are they following the bible that is complied by us who comes to spread falsehood? They may argue "yes, but even if the text was complied by the Council of Rome there is still no mention of easter or abolish the sabbath in the original letters." For the idea of abolishing the sabbath or sunday worship, I will let this wonderful website answer these misconception. However, to WMSCOG I would like to say… Remember when Jesus drives out demon in Matthew 12, and the Pharisees accused him of driving out in the name of the devil not God and jesus replied "Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then can his kingdom stand?" Satan will not put the truth in the bible, if it was really him compling the bible do you really believe for a minute that the words in there are truth to the original meaning?

Most of us should know that the newest book in the bible is the Book of Revelation written around 70AD give and take a couple of years. However, what happen after that? Why did God stop influencing people to write in his name or give out greater understanding of him? The answer is he has never stopped. He continued to influence people around us to spread his teaching, for example long after all the original apostle and disciples of Christ have died, God revealed to Saint Theophilus of Antioch the concept of the "Holy Trinity" around 170AD a concept that is not written in the bible but was also widely accepted by Christian and WMSCOG. So the WMSCOG may ask is Sunday worship justified or is not celebrating Passover allowed in the bible. I will say to them "Bible is the word of God, and in his infinite wisdom you are a fool to perceive that the bible can contain them all, he is continuing to reveal more of himself to his saints till this day even after the bible was compiled and does these saints not have the authority like Paul and Peter to remove the old covenant and instate a new covenant of Christ?"

Louis I would like to correct a couple of errors in what you wrote.
First of all Revelation is not the newest book in the bible although it is placed last. The writing of Revelation is believed to predate the gospel of John and his 3 letters.
Secondly, the wmscog belief in the trinity is very different from Christians. They believe the trinity as one and the same individual with 3 different names and roles in 3 ages.
A lot of other things you have written may be disputed by other Christians who are not Catholic. However, I would suggest that the aim of this website is purely to examine wmscog and not to debate differences in Christain beliefs.
I would like to say that I feel for you Louis. It is hard losing someone to these wmscog people. Most, if not all, of us entering this forum is a victim in one way or another and that cult have affected us in different ways. It is important that we should not give up on our loved ones but instead diligently seek the right way to help them and also combat the spread of this liars in our places. I also hope that because of your experience with the wmscog, you would not consider the bible an enemy. It is just God's words, used in a bad way.
Louis – Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your study is helpful and very informative. I would like to add to the discussion on the date of the book of Revelation. Most Bible commentators and scholars believe that Revelation was indeed written towards the very end of the first century (around 95 A.D.), so it is likely one of the latest books of the Bible (along with 1, 2, 3 John). I would recommend looking at An Introduction to the New Testament 2nd Edition (2005) by D.A. Carson and D.J. Moo for more information on why many Evangelicals believe it was written that late. Or, many study Bibles like the NIV Study Bible give suggestions as to why a later date is mostly assumed.
That's okay Louis. People in this forum is very open to new ideas. Though we have different beliefs, we are all united in the stand against wmscog. Thanks for sharing that. It's been at least 4 1/2 years that my sister's been in. You give me renewed hope. ๐ I can't remember if you shared already, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat, but what was it that finally prompted your friend to leave?

Oh, this video is from warrior, Genny. He's also in this forum, much longer than I. I thought most of us know this video he shared already, so I just repost it for new forum members. In answer to your question, I think warrior got out of the wmscog because he started researching about cults and mind control and finally was able to accept that the wmscog IS a cult.
Here's a part of his message to me as an advice about my brother: "Try to avoid giving passages from the Bible as an argument. It doesnt work. He will feel you are persecuting him. Try to do it from a "I want to understand the doctrine better" or just don't show, to be honest, at least with me, it never worked. I always had an answer, and if I didnt have an answer, I would just block it out of my mind."
Here's another one: "Try to look more interested, and not so much like arguing. and one day you can show him videos of other religions, like JW's or People's temple, just as "Saw this crazy video about these people… what do you think?" and let him watch it, he will see many similarities . Don't try to make a win-lose situation, but try to just make him think by himself, what cults do is that they make you stop thinking by yourself."
"Try to read about the mind control so you can understand him better and understand what is he going through. Also, let me tell you, when you are in the church, you don't stop loving your family, but you have to block them out of your mind to "focus on Father and Mother" , so dont think he doesn't love you and also educate your family. NEVER tell him he is in a cult, or that he is brainwashed or that Ahnsahnghong or Mother are not true. Try from time to time to send him pictures of before he joined the church, try to make him think, without being aggressive."
