Here I thought that Zahng was the only mother god , I guessed wrogn.  Chinese police have detained more than 500 people from a fringe Christian group for spreading rumors about the world's end. Those detained are reported to be members of the group Almighty God, which is also called Eastern Lightning, after a phrase from the Bible's Book of Matthew. Widely regarded as a heretical Christian sect, the group preaches that Jesus has reappeared as a woman in central China. It has been accused of targeting Christians, kidnapping and beating them to force conversions.

I guess everyone wants to be god now. 🙂 Here is a link to the article. http://news.yahoo.com/china-detains-500-plus-people-doomsday-rumors-123354235.html

I remember reading about them when I was in WMSCOG there is a huge difference with her being Jesus instead of Jesus's wife.

I guess you could say that the appearing of these impostors have a lot to do with the Bible's predictions.

In 1 John 2:18 >> "Children, it is the last hour, and just as you heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. We know from this that it is the last hour."

In a way, people may be right in saying that the end really is near.

I believe the end is near. I might not believe the predictions of anyone but it definitely seems close. When I was active duty, someone said if god doesn’t come to destroy the earth, will. World war 4 will be between sticks and rocks.

So i guess 2000 years ago they believed the end would come aswell… Thats kinda funny how the "12"(11) believed they were part of the 144,000. In his day their were anti christs, just like their are now people "against" christ…  but it does not mean the world is going to end. That is the number one way the society controls people. Fear… So please people, if you believe in jesus or not, just continue to live righteous lives and stop living in fear and guilt.  After leaving the society, you dont even know how guilt free my conscience feels…and it feels alot closer to God. God bless you, hope your lives are all well, continue chosing right instead of wrong and Im sure we will be fine :]

As for the topic, this is kinda sad..  The first thing that popped in my head was "persecution". The society would always tell us, "This was how to know we were the true church, God's people suffer persecution" These 500 or so ppl, were arrested for their beliefs, now they(eastern lightning) are really going to think "they are the true church" ughhh.

Please don't take what you read so literally. The Gospel of John speaks of the last days / hour refers to the last judgement. When he said this statement in 1 John 2:18, he did not mean it that it was only happening then.

In Johannine vocabulary, "hour" can refer to a decisive event or occurrence rather than to a unit of chronological time.  This suggests that hour is a decisive event, in our case – the end of our world, in light of which steadfastness is particularly necessary. But the "end" is not a fleeting moment. It is rather a period that marks a new stage in God's dealings with the world. So that statement also includes the present time because the last hour is still to come and will definitely come according to the prophecy.

But I would also like to point out that the prophecies weren't made to be interpreted or so that we can live in guilt and fear but it was made so that our faith in God will develop as we see the fulfillment of these prophecies. We can be assured that the things God has foretold will really happen, so we must be diligent and steadfast in waiting.

As for you statement: "Continue choosing right instead of wrong", I am not sure if you mean this in a broad sense or not but either way it is kinda hard to do because of man's sinful nature. LOL. I am not saying I don't want to do the right thing but just to quote one apostle : "For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate." So you see, it is not really about choosing what is right but knowing that we are sinners but repenting and believing that we will still be save due to certain promises from God.

I don't get it at all. The wmscog assures their followers that God will protect them and keep them safe but also says that they will be persecuted because of their so-called faith. So what is it really? Are they "safe" or not?

Yes but safe from what and persecuted by what? Is this safety limited? Is persecution a consequence or is it predestined?

Persecution is predestined because the bible said it will happen. Safe from “anything” that makes you unsafe. Safe from harm. Safe from the works of the devil. Persecuted for believing in yeshua.

Can you explain to me why john the baptist was behead? and the apostle martyred? Im sure you have your own reasoning, but the point is, according to the bible, God's people suffer persucution. I am no longer Christian, nor do I follow the bible…. WE ALL know what is morrally right and wrong.

    Donttrustzang,

No I am not a wmscog member now. I was forcely baptized but I didn’t last 2 weeks as a member because I saw too much lies in their teachings. I was a Catholic before meeting the wmscog, but now I am full-pledge Reformist, so I hold a calvinism belief. Hehe.
