That’s what God said, let’s make man and woman in our image, when God said this he never meant anything physical or genderwise, he meant his greatness, his glory, his wisdom and free will, which it was entailed to us from the the beginning.
Even thought he is our heavenly Father, he never needed a female God in order to create us. This is where WMSCOG got it all wrong, they believe that everything on earth is a mirror image of what heaven should be like. God is not a human he is an omnipotent being he never needed a wife, or an image of a female God.
Even though, the book of genesis starts with he created them man and women, he created them… but when we go into depth in the account of Adam and Eve, it show us how exactly everything came to plan and even after God created the earth, the land and the sea, God realized that man needed companionship to be on this earth, and even after he created all the animals and names were given, he still didn’t found a companion suitable for Adam. That’s when we all know that he make Adam fall asleep and created Eve from one rib..
So Im nobody to question God to know why he did things the way he did, but isn’t it strange that God didn’t take the dust from the earth and created man and women at the same time? If there was such an image of a female God, then why does God goes thru the trouble to tell us thru the bible that in the account of Adam and Eve, that she only came until later? Only until he realized what kind of companion he really needed.
I always wonder this and i ask them during many studies but they never had a concise answer.
Yep, Adam and Eve were not made simultanioulsy. Which would be the case if there were 2 gods. God made Adam. Only after that came Eve. Adam was a prerequisite for Eve. Eve could not exist without Adam, but adam DID exist without Eve.
Adam came from God. -> Eve came from Adam. Get it in your thick skulls.
Since we're on the topic of images:
If the image of God is man, could the image of the Beast be something similar?
Satans attempt to emulate God's creation process maybe?
And has something like this ever happened during Nero's reign?
They have an answer as to why… but the fact is the bible says both man and woman are in the image and likeness of God so maybe instead of trying to argue that that isn't true you and straw mans about what God does or doesn't need we should argue why it doesn't mean God's gender is connected to the image

Old Bible editions say "Let us make man from our image" not "make them". This is a problem with Bible thumpers. The new version of NIV most especially omitted a lot of verses from the new testament then editing the remaining verses which change the meaning of the original verses. Accordingly, the NIV is the one in use by new age movement like WMSCOG. And there is an article which states that the new NIV is intended for a planned one world religion.
The WMS is in no way a new age movement. Check the definition before writing nonsence like this.

The niv is already being used by a religion and that religion is christianity. Are you suggesting that everyone is going to drop their beliefs to convert to christianity?
A one world religion is supposed to unite all religions, take the best of them all, so to speak.

I somehow doubt the neutrality of this here comment and commentator. When something that could clearly be interepreted in various meanings is now given a definitve interpretation. This black and white interpretation is one of my major problems with the cult.

Brilliant! I had almost forgotten about that.
It says MAN is the image of God! It doesn't say the same about the woman.
The WMSCOG uses this verse often, yet they fail to see that the woman did not come from a female god, but from MAN!
that is completely false the Bible does say women are in the image of God
we are talking about where women came from they did come from man not from a woman
god.. it explicitly says it thier in 1 corinthians 11: look up the deffinition of glory it will also give it more sense
