I happened to have the TV on last Saturday night and saw the preview for ABC 20/20 Prime. They were reporting on a cult in East TX in a little town called Wells. The cult is called the Church of Well and like the WMSCOG, has caused devastation to families who have lost their loved ones to this cult. There is a Facebook page for Catherine Groves and is interesting to read the comments. I feel for these parents; I am walking in their shoes.

There are (I believe) 3 sections to this piece. Here is the link to the first part:   http://abcnews.go.com/Nightline/video/church-wells-tracking-controversial-religious-group-23210454

I had to read it a couple of times, but I see what you are saying, Azula. But to make such an assertion is to confess that there is some sense of spirituality at play, which I deny. One thing I feel I must admit that the WMSCOG was good for…. after 7 years in that place I was given a ferver to discover for myself. I wonder, if it had not been for my experience, would I have reached such a "mentality"? We can drill ice core samples dating 30,000 years back… no evidence of a flood. The gospels were written 80-100 years after the supposed death of christ. (easy to manifest prophesy fulfillment that way)…. at the end of the day, I question the validity of the whole thing all together…  If I were not raised in Judeo/Christian America, then I might think Almighty Thore was the undenyable truth… and none could convince me otherwise. What fools we are! But no more……….. Evidence is the sequential process by which I now judge anything and everything. No more pressing the "I believe" button. This and this alone I should be thankful for. everything else was a waste of time/money.

@What is truth – The gospels were all written in the first century CE which is within a few decades of Christ's death. The apostles willingly died to witness the fact of His resurrection.

I am a Christian and although I believe in the flood at the time of Noah, I do not believe it was a global event. I think the problem is that some people view the bible literally. I can pick plenty of holes in a literal interpretation.
