An interesting video has me thinking a lot about many of the things the WMSCOG and other Christians teach and believe.

Love'n HoneyParticipantIts a rather lengthy video so I watched it a few times and took some notes.
Laws of the Cov’t
1) ceremonial laws – unleavened bread, po, etc.
2) royal laws – do not kill, do not lay with a man as you would lay with a woman, moral law
3) dietary laws – what you consume
4) sacrificial laws – killed clean animals for atonement
5) judgemental laws – for those who violate the laws
Jer 31:31
– days are coming (in the future from jeremiahs time)
– god will make a new cov’t
– cov’t made with israel and judah
* israel was divided into north israel and south judah
* Dt 29
– not according to the cov’t made with their fathers (the 5 laws of the cov’t)
– god will make this cov’t with israel
* this is when israel & judah will be one nation, israel
* when jesus was here, israel was still divided
* Ez 37:15-28, when israel will be one nation
– after those days, the law will be on our hearts
– no man will teach another who god is
* they did when jesus was here and they do now
He 8:1
– the new cov’t has something to do with the high priest (jesus)
– sacrifice has something to do with the new cov’t
– jesus is the mediator of this better cov’t
– 1st cov’t concerning sacrifices
– the sacrifices couldn’t kill our sins
* the new cov’t only effects the sacrificial and judgemental laws
* this cov’t has not been made yet

Love'n HoneyParticipantIdk about the vows.. I always assumed they used the same vows. Renewed cov’t makes sense. But if israel is still divided, then god hasn’t made the renewed cov’t yet. The WMSCOG claims the PO with bread and wine is the “New cov’t”. There’s fault in that concept because israel is still divided. But many christians believe they have the “new cov’t” so they’re all wrong too.

SimonParticipantwell all of israel has never been together really if you study the torah
December 1, 2012 at 2:40 AM #49115
Love'n HoneyParticipantWhen did Israel split and where does it say that?
December 1, 2012 at 3:51 AM #49116
ElievalkyrieParticipantIt just occured to me, since their god the mother already showed up. Why don't they baptized their followers "In the name of the Father, the Mother, the Son and the Holy Spirit?" If I was the female god, I would get angry and freaked at their insolence of deliberately not using my name! LOL!

Love'n HoneyParticipantBecause her job is to give life and that’s it. Eve was named eve because she would be mother of all the living. As far I’ve read, that’s the only “job description” of eve. Since mother is the prophetical eve, her only job is to give life. It is the mans job to do all the work. So the father is the one who takes our sins away. If you ever watch the plays, you’ll notice that mother, though she is god, always asks father for permission to do something or ask him to have mercy on the children. You’d think that if she were god, she shouldn’t need to ask but she still does. They say its because the man controls the house and even mother is not equal to father.

ElievalkyrieParticipantIf that's the case, they are limiting her "powers" by describing her as someone to just "give life". Who are they to tell a god what to do. If I'm a god, I would like to be worshipped equally with the other gods. It's like they are saying there is nothing equal in this world, so much in fact that even gods don't have equal rights.
I remember asking a member one time if God the mother and father are equals, I specifically remember being told a big "YES".

Love'n HoneyParticipantThey are equally powerful but father still has dominion over mother. Mother does nothing without fathers permission. Its like going back to the 50s. Women can do mens work but they didn’t because the men wouldn’t allow them. And as its taught, its not us putting limits on god. Its god telling and showing us their purpose and power.
But it does prove we have a limited god wach by themselves. But together, they are unlimited because what one “can’t” do the other does.

SimonParticipantI was told mother was superior actually
Also you aren’t baptized in mothers name because that isnt the commandment
December 1, 2012 at 1:14 PM #49122
ElievalkyrieParticipantSo what is it really? All this telling and nothing comes out as a right conclusion of the true beliefs of the wmscog. Who is superior really, mother or father? Or are they really equal? So many teachings that is not consistent. I wonder how all the members stayed sane. It's like they have a chewing gum. They split it apart whenever they want, then puts it together whenever they need it to be whole. If you are a Christ believer, then believe in the Bible. The Bible is like a novel, you have to read everything from start to finish to understand the whole story. You can't just pick out words or phrases from it and say "this is what it means" when you don't even know the whole story of it.

Love'n HoneyParticipantMembers who don’t hop from zion to zion tend to not see the obvious inconsistency. My missionary said I wasn’t allowed to call other zions to ask questions. She also said once I left santee zion, i wasn’t allowed to talk to anyone in santee zion. Those who obey these 2 rules about zion hopping it’s difficult to compare. Because we don’t take notes on everything. If someone mentions something like, mother will never die but ascend to heaven, it’s more than likely not going to be written in our notes. Then members switch zions to hear when mother dies we will go to heaven, their ears are perked up.. “i thought mother wasn’t supposed to dies. . Well I can’t call to make sure I understood correctly. I’ll just accept it like a good child of God.” THAT was not me…. I called my missionary almost every Sunday to ask her questions about what i was taught in santee. She answered them though she didn’t want to. And that’s when I realized the teachings didn’t match up.
No one showed me proof of anything. My family didn’t try to disprove anything. I had to realize it myself. That’s why military members don’t last very long in the “truth”.
December 1, 2012 at 3:55 PM #49124
ElievalkyrieParticipantI see. Hmmm… I got it! So I just have to infiltrate the zion here in my city (I was baptized in a different city where my brother is currently located), ask questions and find irregularities and present them to my bro. I would "innocently" say, the zion here is teaching different things about this topic and he will get confuse. Yes! 1 point for me! LOL.
December 2, 2012 at 1:18 AM #49125
Love'n HoneyParticipantLol, that’s exactly what I would do.
December 2, 2012 at 4:34 AM #49126
SimonParticipantexcept that might just make you look bad, or he'll think you're lying?
December 2, 2012 at 2:04 PM #49127
ElievalkyrieParticipantnot really, that would make the zion look bad, it will only get him to think things. and about the lying part, that's where trust and love comes in. If he's still the bro I know, he'll have to consider my questions. It also depends on how I formulate my questions to him, which must not make him defensive or anything.
December 2, 2012 at 4:07 PM #49128
Love'n HoneyParticipantQuestions like: how come there aren’t any pictures of ahnsahnghong hanging in zion? Is it because of idolatry?
That gets him to notice that there aren’t pictures of him hanging and gets him to think about if the pictures of mother and jesus considered idolatry.
Question: I understand we aren’t supposed to bow to things because its idolatry. If I bow and pray to my bed, does it become an idol? ….. but what if I don’t bow and pray to the bible or cross? Does it still remain an idol?
Flaws in their teaching about the cross being an idol. They told me that just having a cross breaks the 2nd commandment. But in that study, they say the cross became an idol when people bowed and prayed to it. Meaning, it wasn’t always an idol. They give examples of things such as cars and houses that have nothing to do with religion. Saying if you bow, pray, or sacrifice food to your car or house, it becomes an idol. They say is you love your children more than god, they become an idol. So what are we supposed to do, give up our children? No. Start loving god more than your children and they won’t be idols anymore… they won’t be idols anymore… they won’t be idols anymore. Echo effect =)
December 2, 2012 at 4:10 PM #49129
Love'n HoneyParticipantBut for it to seem like you’re trying to gain a full understanding, you have to have had the study before. It’ll make more sense why you have these questions. =)

Well, I hope you are right about the first one and I do honestly wish you well in helping your brother out.

ElievalkyrieParticipantThanks Simon! I really just want to save my brother from them since we are talking of eternal damnation here and they are dragging him along with them. I'm not going to give up without a fight. ^___^
