I know for a fact that this was what they taught. How come no one has any proof or a paper trail of any 2012 studies?!?! I have only verbal which has since been denied. If anyone on the inside knows of another doomsday prediction we need proof!!! Like a video recording or a study. We need to expose this cult Asap. I am so tired of all these families being broken hearted!
I heard studies happened way before that year!!
Only thing that they have now is verbal!!

They made sure we didnt write it down, when they gave the study. They knew what they were doing. Thats why in the People© Magazine article, Pastor Daniel Lee of Ridgewood branch said “You will never find anywhere written, that COG predicted 2012 as the end”. Focus on his words..”written down”. That was his way of trying to NOT lie. They never published any 2012 material…it was all word of mouth. Semantics. They learned from 1988.
2012 was the “hidden secret.” The leaders had the material for the study written down. They also had a biblical formula to calculate it, so they made it appear. They should designate a room in the musuem, and put the numbers on top of the doorway “2012”.
@Mayor I remember we watched the Movie, “2012” several times in the theatres. They also showed, The movie, “Knowing” on Sundays a bunch of times.
We never watched no movies. We had the same boring studies. We re-watched sermons videos or disaster videos. It was the same god bless you, let’s greet everyone, let’s share our fragrances. How about I get me a refill on coffee, get me a little jacked up, time moves faster with caffeine. Some days it was like, get me out from here. A real movie would have been better.
@Mayor….Our first Overseer was a little (“little”) laidback. When we got the Korean Overseer. We sat around between services and fragrance time being belittled. No movies. A few fragrances…then we listened to him talk and try to sound intelligent. I agree…Coffee. Snack. Help me. Did he just tell that brother he’s “acting stupid”?. Why is he always yelling at the brothers? Wait..we have Construction meeting tommorrow starting at 6am? Need Coffee. Did he just say, “those who really love mudder will assemble tommorrow in Zion?”. Headache.(My thoughts every Saturday when I was there)
Lol. The 5 am services were the worst. Show up 445 in a suit and tie. How about I press the snooze button instead. I sure feel better coming to this site and saying my piece about the church.
Ah…5am service. Its extremely difficult to muster up a fake, “Godbless you” at that time. When they started urging the Moms to not let their kids sleep, I was shocked. In the Today show interview with Missionary Powers, when he lied about kids fasting, I wished the commentator knew they make young children keep 5am service.
I still have a chart, made by the overseer of the zion I attended, detailing the feasts and their prophetic fulfillment. It has four colums, one that says” origin of feast”, the next which says “OT regulation”, the next which says “prophetic fulfillment” and the last which says “new covenant regulation”. The section which explains the prophetic fulfillment is very specific and literal. For example: in thepassover
section it explains that the the OT passover was fulfilled by jesus and the bread and wine in the upper room during the last supper. Another example: one of the later feasts, I can’t remember which ( nor do I care to) has the writting of Ellen g. White as it’s fulfillment. However when it comes to the feast of tabernacles( the one corresponding to 2012) It says the fulfillment is ” God’s people being gathered in the last days in the heavenly Jerusalem.”

The amazing thing about the 5am service…there is nothing to base it biblically. If I remember correctly, we were told AHN prayed at 5am and that was the example. Ironically (and my next statement is not intended to offend current Christians) any faith that makes basis for Prayer times (i.e. Islam and Salat times) does so from pagan influence, recognizing the points of the Suns movement accross the sky. Its amazing again, how WMS is anti-Pagan, anti-ANYTHING that isn’t them, but they will quote certain Religious heretics (William Miller, E.White etc) as fact.

Othniel. They are from the Bible…but before Jews, Christians etc made thesr times…they had pagan reference. When we stop being afraid of the “P” word, and research…it becomes clear. The older always influences the younger.

Right.. But he will be knocked out til like 2pm now cause he was at zion til 1130 came home slept like 2 hours and went back!!
Sadly, this is why so many members are stuck in terrible paying, but flexible jobs. I know of alot of members who left jobs, because they couldnt keep a feast or a Saturday off of work.
