Another failed prediction and another placing the blame on the church members. You haven't made enough oil? What are you all bridesmaids now? Why are you choosing to follow along with this? Haven't you been lied to enough yet? Your turn, tell us why this is anything but another bigger lie to cover up another failure?

Exactly, now thats how true wms run their stuff :),
Besides if there is no korean… then to who all those lovely and fun loving hyengjenims and jamemims screamed "bokmanibadaseyo" or talks about "omoni" this and that to? right? that would be awkward.

Cephas' BrotherParticipantKC, hate to burst your bubble but the COG my girl attends had zero Koreans for almost 4 years.

MountainMomParticipantA question,is it true that tithing is a requirement, but they tell you that the real blessings start from what you give above your tithe? Also, is the tithe supposed to be a tenth of the gross income, or the net? I guess I am wondering because Jesus said give Caesar his due, which would be the tax on gross income, so wouldn't the tithe expected of the member be based on the net? How is that explained in the church, and who is it explained by?
January 7, 2013 at 4:10 AM #50613
jellybeanParticipantI was told in the Tithes and Offerings Study that it is supposed to be from what you make before taxes and they used the verse that says "give to Cesar what belongs to Cesar and to God what belongs to God." The explanation was that what you really make is before taxes because taxes are for government. If you did not want to do it like that you can also do it from your total after all the deductions but then when you receive your income tax you have to tithe from whatever amount you receive. I asked if I could do it the second way and the Deaconess told me that it was better to do it before taxes because "Father" was coming soon and that he might come before 2011.(That was in the middle of 2010) (Remember that I met Michelle Colon and it was at the same time she was coming to church).

SimonParticipantthe study I did never said you have to give over tithe to be blessed no
January 7, 2013 at 3:34 PM #50615
KCParticipantLets say… yea theres no koreans and there no need for the heavy emphasis of tithing, then…. what make you guys think theres something wrong with wms? or for some, why did you get out? Just because their believe of mama god?, Personally i think if its ONLY about the believe… as i said before… none you would join up from the start.
as for my case, if its only about praising zhang or any other self proclaimed deities… and they dont mess people up, i would still be supporting them and have no reason to always trying to make people aware about them, and no its not about the religion issue, infact i never really care about religion.
January 7, 2013 at 3:48 PM #50616
KCParticipantand come on… at the end of every sermon those guys in complete non korean sion then would just chanted … hanule geysin aboji anhsanhhong nim, abojikeyso gangnimhasil naren imbakhayetsaona, urideren amu junbido obsaoni, abojiyo urirel bulsanghi yogisigo, abojiei songyonguro malmiama and etc (too lazy to type) without REALLY knowning what they are blabbing about?

MountainMomParticipantMy relative in the cog was told 10%, but then it was just like everything else (such as time commitment), it creeped up to much more. When he tried to reduce the amount, he was deluged with texts, calls, and then the pastor met with him secretly (one on one without my relative's wife being informed, as she was the one who talked him into giving a more reasonable amount). My relative is giving around $800 to $1,000 per month and he doesn't make $10,000 per month, more like a third of that. But he was told exactly how much to give in tithe, for his "spiritual growth" and was adamant he wouldn't receive salvation if he didn't do it. He is ruled by fear.

MountainMomParticipantAlso, it goes without saying that this caused tremendous trouble in his marriage, as his wife isn't, and never will be a member. They interfere with marriages in so many ways, it is tragic. Many marriages break up as a result.

I hope they get to bring all the bucks with them when they are swimming in everlasting hell. Sorry for that, this story just irritated me.

SimonParticipantdon’t confuse tithe with offerings.
January 7, 2013 at 5:10 PM #50622
SimonParticipantI mean yeah the money taking is evil just gotta consider why one could be tricked
January 7, 2013 at 5:19 PM #50623
MountainMomParticipantThe why isn't hard to understand if you do the research on coercive mind control. I didn't understand at first how in the world this wonderful, loyal, intelligent person could be influenced to believe as he does, but now I do. It helps me to cope now that I understand the "why" part. What is harder for me to understand is how the people who actually know they are using this manipulative process on people can sleep at night. How can you just take so much and damage people so much and live with yourself? The loss of trust in people is not a small thing, and when my relative finids out, I am worried about what it will do to his already fragile mental state.
January 7, 2013 at 5:24 PM #50624
SimonParticipantI wonder how many know though
January 7, 2013 at 5:39 PM #50625
MountainMomParticipantThat's something we can't lose sight of in all this. Many don't know. There are so many good people deceived into the false beliefs. I've met them, I know them. They have no idea they are simply pawns being used. They are convinced to believe in this, and they work hard for their "salvation" and to know God better. Unfortunately, they are being led the opposite direction, and I feel bad for them. They deserve so much better. I pray we can get them out and help them to go on afterwards without too much damage. There are people in this group who definitely know, though.
January 7, 2013 at 5:43 PM #50626
KCParticipantmost local leaders knows.
January 7, 2013 at 5:46 PM #50627
MountainMomParticipantYes, I believe the Pastor at my relative's Zion knows, and I believe he has a lot of money he doesn't tell his parishioners about. Supposedly he isn't paid anything at all by the church to be the Pastor. When my relative asked how he lives, he said he had an electronics company in Korea that he owns. Hmmmmmm…….Could he be talking about BigShine Worldwide? I think that is possible. Yet he tell my relative he is so poor he doesn't even have money for health coverage.
