That's interesting because in english cattle & livestock are normally geared toward the plural form.

hey genny have you seen the website that the church of god created regarding slanderes of their truth
I did look into it. I have to say that I find the explanation about the words "angel" & "spirit" interesting. Especially "El" & "Eloah". Why do people add genders to inanimate* objects or invisible things? What purpose does it serve in communicating?
Posted 11 months ago # -
Renita - genders being given to inanimate objects is just what happens in different languages - doesn't have any deep signigficance - just how it is in most European languages. eg. peculiarly the German word for girl (das Madchen) is neuter ie neither male or female, so how odd is that? Most European langauages have male and female nouns - some have neuter. (Don't know about other nation's languages- maybe some have none, like English) It certainly doesn't mean that a noun designated as being female refers to a female etc. Maybe you could find some deeply meaningful explanation as to why some nouns are deemed to be feminine and some masculine in some languages, but I doubt it and doesn't really seem to be a good use of your time. xxx

Well, I think it matters. Because if some words in Hebrew call out to God using male context, does it mean anything? To the COG it does. Even Jesus called God Father, right?

Christians generally believe God is our Father. But that's an incorrect belief if God is genderless.

Remember, 3 to 5000 years ago men (rather than women) wrote out everything. Women were not considered educated.
The Tetragrammaton (YHWH) is both a Hebrew and Phoenecian word. Does that mean Phoenecian's worshipped 1 G-d? Nope. Its just another semeitic word but in Hebrew means G-d's holy name.
If the COG was full of moroncy and would allow FACT into their doctirne they would understand culture's.
Remember.. The current bible is full of inaccurate translations.

That is correct. "G-d the father" is an incorrecct term. Many people need a visualization of G-d that is just not there. Remember Jesus (which is kinda like the nbame Josh in today's society) only met half of the biblical prophecies. That puts doubs in alot of peoples minds as to why G-d would need a second coming. Remember Jesus DID NOT meet the following...
- Be an ordinary human being (as opposed to the Son of God)
- Rebuild the ancient Temple in Jerusalem
- Bring peace to the world

Why would Jesus need to rebuild the temple which was in fact RIGHT THERE.

Moroncy: I couldn't find it in the dictionary.
Somewhere in the OT, it says something about God coming as a capenter & a stonemason. The 1st time He came as only a capenter. So, He has to come a 2nd time as a stonemason which is what I'm told Ahnsahnghong did.

Where does it say that He will come as a carpenter and stonemason? I don't remember that.
Posted 11 months ago # -
There is NO passage in the Old Testament that states the Saviour will come as a carpenter. However, there is an interesting discussion of this topic here:

I will search for it later. My ship's going underway so I won't be here for a while. But I'll look for it in my bible. I remember reading something that said the words "carpenter" & "stonemason" in the OT. It was told to me that it was about the Christ but I have to read it again.

Ezekiel Chapter 37
26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them--it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; and I will establish them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in the midst of them for ever.
27 My dwelling-place also shall be over them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.
28 And the nations shall know that I am the LORD that sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for ever.' {P}
Isaiah Chapter 33
20 Look upon Zion, the city of our solemn gatherings; thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a peaceful habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.

Ed hominem!! It's not nice to attack people in such a way.
2 Sa 5:11, Idk how the COG interpreted it but they interpreted it as how Christ would come.

That doesn't make any sense.
2 Sam. 5:11, "Now Hiram king of Tyre sent envoys to David, along with cedar logs and carpenters and stonemasons, and they built a palace for David."

The same thought that came to my mind.

I never seen that verse used before I would just have stared at them and then laughed thinking it was a joke.

Yeah, let's take Scripture thousands of years apart and sew it together and make it into anything we want ....

i did insert "feasts" in your quote, b/c that is what it is talking about, correct? Lev 23, the ssacred assemblies, gatherings?
Jesus did establish zion, God's dwelling place (Ps 132), the city of God's feasts with every New (everlasting) Covenant feasts; Sabbath, unelavened bread, feasts of weeks and feast of tabernacles/. Ahnsahnghong rebuilt zion in the last days as its written in Micha 4:1 in the last days zion will be rebulit.
